I usually buy 6 to 10 lbs of the Challenge butter- I do not want to run out! My small town grocery does not carry these products, so I stock up when I get to larger grocery stores. The taste is like the homemade sweet cream butter we used to made when we raised cows. I will never change! Love your butter!
I am in my late 80's and the butter with the elk on carton was only butter my mother allowed to purchase. and, of course, I have passed this hait to my kids. If a particular Challege produce I need/want is not available in store I happen to be in, I will not purchase any other brand but will go to a store that does - this applies on line, too
I grew up on Challenge Butter. My Mom didn't know how to pronounce the name but she always reminded us to get the butter with the "venadito", the little deer. Winter mornings were filled with the scent of freshly made hot flour tortillas Mom made for us. We loved the creaminess of Challenge butter in our hot tortillas as it melted into a buttery delightful treat. Our family continues to use Challenge butter and it has become a multigenerational memory.
Growing up my mom and grandmother used Challenge butter, but usually for only special occasions. My grandma who is 104, used to mix flavored extracts to softened butter for special treats to fresh biscuits. My favorite was orange. She added a dash of extract and a tsp of sugar. She would also whip butter and honey together.
Challenge butter has that upscale restaurant taste. I swear it doesn't get the stale refrigerator taste after opening it. It is great for spreading and cooking. Don't be surprised if you "accidentally " lick your fingers when you "accidentally " get some on your finger ;))
