First of all, I very much enjoy burt's bees chapstick and it is one of the only chapsticks in which I have actually finished a whole tube. HOWEVER... this particular chapstick made me very sad. I bought this tube of chapstick to replace one I lost and I figured I'd try the pomegranate because I usually like all things pomegranate. This tube of chapstick is the one exception because it does not smell at all like chapstick its smells like medicine. Like nasty cough medicine. Needless to say I was very disappointed and I will now have to replace this tube with something less stinky. :( So unless you like the smell of medicine, I would not recommend this chapstick.
This is one of my favorites out of the balm collection. It's not overly slimy or oily, and instead glides on smoothy with little application needed. It has a very pleasant/neutral smell that isn't overwhelming. I absolutely love the feeling of the original balm, but it cooling peppermint oil makes me nauseous. The Replenishing balm did a good job of replacing the smell with the same effect. This balm reigns as my favorite until I can try all the others.
Not sure what's with the acai berry craze, but this stuff is AMAZING. My lips get really dry and cracked, especially since I ride a motorcycle and it gets pretty darn cold and my lips hate that, but with a day or so of wearing this lip balm after letting them get bad (like when I've lost another tube) they're good as new. It smells good, it feels good, it lasts a while, and aside from the purplish cap it's... carryable... for a guy... in a pocket. Just hide the cap when you pull it out. I love this even better than pomegranate and I've loved that stuff since I first tried it. Bottom line? Go ahead and buy one. Buy five, if you're like me and you lose them often or your dog eats them.
This is a unique new flavor for your collection, but it may be too strong for some. I would best describe it as having sort of a candy-like, lip-smakers-esque taste (or scent, really). I tend to like it though, and it is quite moisturizing with a better texture than the original minty balm
I saw the new label but didn't think anything about it until I put the balm on and instantly noticed the unpleasant taste--kind of chemically, not the slight sweetness of the old formula. The new formula spreads a little better but I actually like the feel of the old formula better too. So disappointing. I used to buy this stuff in bulk; now I have to find another brand. And in the meantime I'm stuck with three tubes I'll never use!
