GPSMAP 76CSx Marine Navigator

I have had two other GPS units, and this one is by far the best one yet. The additional map must be installed to make the unit useful for outdoor activities. The power consumption is very low, compared to other units I have had.

The 76CSx is an excellent all around gsp. Routing capabilities for road trips are very good. About the only thing I found missing is voice directions. Tracking for outdoor/off road trips is where it really shines. Great to be able to set up a hike or paddle on a PC using the track tools, transfer it to the 76CSx and then let it navigate for you. More capabilities than most of us will ever use. One of the best features is Garmin support. Support questions are answered quickly and completely. Much different than the other gps makers. Bought a Magellan Crossover and sent it back. It was of no use off road and Magellan support was nonexistent.

I gave the Garmin gpsmap 76CSx as a Christmas gift to my husband and we have gone Goecashing several times in several local areas. Even I (the semi-technophobe) was able to easily use it. We have begun a new adventure and we can do it together. Love it, love it, love it! You cachers are so clever. We even took our grandson and he said it was the most fun we ever had.

This is the best handheld I have ever owned from the 3 I purchased. It even holds satalites inside buildings. When your navigating where I am in Alaska you need trust in a product and the Garmin GPSmap 76CSx gives me just that.

This product would have been five stars across the board. The only problem with the unit is the maps. Only major roads come installed in the unit. To get all of the minor roads you have to pay $100 plus for the map software. Other than that this unit is fantastic. A big plus on this GPS over others is the ability to connect to an external antenna.
