I haven't had a chance to use this grill press yet because I'm still struggling to put the handle on it. Someone more adept might not have a problem with the size and awkward placement of the screws, but I'm going to have to ask my husband to do it for me.
I specifically bought this to cook my bacon. It work very well. I love it.
HOLDS ANYTHING DOWN AND IS HEAVY ENOUGH TO KEEP IT DOWN
Bought this for my husband for Christmas to use on his grilled cheese sandwiches. I think it will be WAY to heavy to put on a sandwich - maybe better for a thick steak but not sure why you would want to press a steak. Will likely return for something with less weight. I love Lodge products though. They last a lifetime.
Haven't used it, yet, but all parts were supplied in package with good assembly instructions. Fasteners that were supplied to attach handle to base appear to be stainless steel. No reason to think that that this tool won't function as expected. It's cast iron; it's heavy; it's a grille press.
