Makes starting fires super easy. No need for a bunch of fire starter or to have to sit there messing with a lighter forever. This is as easy as counting to three. A little starter fluid, get this sparked, and you're good to go. Small enough to carry in a small pack, great for emergencies too. Never know if you'll need to have a fire for heat.

I bought my boyfriend this because he always likes to have a backpack of survival gear around for emergencies. But I had never used one before. He wanted to make sure I could use on my own so when we went camping he had me do it on my own. Before trying it I read a lot of the reviews on it so I could learn properly because my boyfriend isn't the best teacher lol. He showed me but I couldn't get the hang of it. So when reading reviews they had a lot of helpful tips, two of the most helpful tips I read was to use dryer lint as a little kindling, which i already had, and then to also make sure I use enough shavings. And so after I used more shavings and made sure it was in a little pile on the lint , I had no issues and was able to start my first fire! This is a very useful thing to have, and it's important to know how to use it as well! I definitely recommend this!

The most important thing for any outdoorsman or survivalist is the ability to keep warm and cook meals over a fire. With Coleman Fire Starter, you will get a clean spark every time. The spark comes off large which is sure to catch on dried grass and twigs to get a small flame going. Never be in the wilderness without this. It may save your life!

I bought a magnesium and flint so I could practice up on my ability to make a fire with the most basic of materials. I love to solo camp and explore, so I like knowing I have my bases covered if something doesn't go to plan. Tough to get started with! Definitely need to take the connecting chain off and practice the best way to hold each material/angles to strike. Great price for super usable materials!

This is a good product to have on hand when camping. If you don't have matches and/or a lighter this will help you start a fire. Even in damp conditions it works well. I would practice ahead of time though because it does take some getting used to
