[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used as refills for the Jiffy self watering greenhouse. Not so successful. I was surprised to note these seed starters retained too much water.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these on sale and they took much longer to hydrate than the other large Jiffy peat pellets (the ones that come with the "greenhouse" covered trays for tomato seedlings). When I tried to fluff up the peat at the top of these pellets (before putting the seeds in), I found dry, crumbly spots even though the rest of the pellet appeared fully soaked and expanded. It's too bad, as stores near me don't stock these larger pellets and I already have trays.

These pellets are the best. I always use the 50mm ones they hold the larger plants i.e. tomatoes, peppers etc well. So simple - always germinates - easy to replant in the garden or the larger pots - just drop in the pod. Excellent!

Two weeks ago I seeded these along side of the same seed in miracle Grow seed starter and they both had about the same germination amount and time. The convenience of the pellets make them well worth the extra bucks.
