Miracle-Gro AeroGarden EXTRA LED with Gourmet Herb Seed Pod Kit

I have two of the Extra series and have used them continuously for a year now. I grow herbs (basil for fresh pesto all year round, rosemary that germinates beautifully, lavender that flowers). I grow vegetables to transplant out into the garden (tomatoes especially!). I grow vegetables for inside cultivation (lettuce, Swiss chard grows well inside for harvesting). Ive started many butterfly weed (Asclepias tuberosa) transplants using the aerogarden. I've had beautiful pink petunias blooming continuously from July and still going strong and it's almost February (I've pruned the same three plants twice)! This particular aerogarden is made so well (pump, elctronics, LED lights) that I haven't needed any others, although I did purchase the growlight that helps keep the potted seedlings going that I transplant outside. I added some photos of what I've grown during the past year.

we started with basil and parsley. easy to grow. i would suggest that you also purchase the little air pump and stone to keep the water fresh. after a few months the unit will get root bound and you will need to clean and replant Currently we are growing sage and thyme which grow great.

I have 2 of the EXTRA units and love them. In the middle of this freezing cold winter, I have fresh herbs in the kitchen and flowers blooming in the living room. The basil leaves are as big as my hand. So easy to program the unit for the specific plants. Highly recommended!

One of the settings has, after less than two months of use, completely stopped working. So no spout settings for us. I think it's probably pretty neat, when it works. Which ours doesn't. If we ever get it fixed I'll gladly re-do my review and extol the virtues. Right now I'm just irritated.

This is my third aero garden. It has LED lights which are cooler and don't burn my lettuce leaves. Electric costs are lower. The water circulation is improved over my old models. Not just for lettuce but I also start my outside garden vegetable plants in it. Right now I have cucumber and green pepper seedlings beside my lettuce greens. A constant joy!
