Do you people know how the coconuts are harvest to make this product. Well let me tell you, the horrible people that make this product, abuse innocent monkeys by forcing them to pick the coconuts. This is ridiculous that people would harm and force monkeys to do this for their profit. Look it up if you don't believe me. Every time you buy this product you are exploiting monkeys and contributing to their abuse. There are plenty of other coconut milk products to choose from out there on the market that don't abuse animals.
A disturbing PETA Asia investigation revealed that terrified young monkeys in Thailand are chained, abusively trained, and forced to climb trees to pick coconuts that are used to these products
This advertises as vegan - however, as a vegan I will NEVER buy this product because of the alleged abusive practices monkeys have to go through to collect coconuts.
This brand of coconut milk of chained Monkeys. Target and Costco will no longer sell it for that reason. Wal Mart needs to step up its game they sadden greatly
A PETA Asia investigation found that Chaokoh was forcing chained monkeys to pick coconuts for them. Per PETA, "When not being forced to pick coconuts or perform in circus-style shows for tourists, the animals were kept tethered, chained to old tires, or confined to cages barely larger than their bodies, deprived of any semblance of a life. Many monkeys displayed repetitive behavior indicative of extreme mental anguish, including one who chewed on his own limbs. One coconut farmer confirmed that when monkeys are terrified and try to defend themselves, handlers pull their teeth out."
