I thought this would be awesome for big stacks of papers and receipts. My old basic stapler just wasn't cutting it. But good Lord! This thing is serious! I used the 5/8 heavy duty bostitch staples with the bostitch heavy duty stapler I went staple crazy just wanting to check it out. I stapled the box it arrived in, then folded 5 times and continued to staple it. I had no issues using the stapler. It came all together. It's pretty light weight considering it's a heavy duty item. I would definitely recommend this. Don't use it on wood! According to my husband that's whole different stapler.
This is definately a stapler that is heavy-duty. It is big and easy to use. It can staple together up to 130 pages. However, the stapler can use 4 different types of staples depending on the number of sheets you wish to staple together. The staple sizes are 1/4 inch for 25 sheets, 3/8 inch for 55 sheets, 1/2 inch for 85 sheets, and 5/8 inch for 130 sheets. All of the instructions for the stapler, for example: loading staples, are on the the box of the stapler. So, it would be a good idea to keep the box, as well. We also received a box of the 5/8 inch heavy duty staples. It contains 5000 staples which is more than enough to keep us busy for a while. All in all, I'd say that if you need a really good stapler to use for putting papers together, for say; presentations, essays, or anything else that you can think of, than this is the stapler to help you get it done.
This Bostitch stapler really is heavy duty. The look and feel is more like a machine than a mere stapler. I had to read the instruction pamphlet to figure out how to open & load the Staples- it's a push\slide motion to get the stopper out to load them. I had a 72 page booklet I needed to staple together. The first two attempts went badly- with the staples getting stuck (which was frustrating since it's supposed to be a jam free stapler). Each of the two staples I had to work out of the stapler, they were pretty mangled. The third staple attempt was like butter! Barely any force was needed to push the handle down (and I have arthritis!) & smoothly staple the pages. The next two staples went in just as easy,. Since the first two staple jams, I haven't had a problem at all!
As an avid crafter, having a heavy duty stapler is going to make my life so much better . I have used it to make fans for a graduating senior this year and with wedding season fast approaching I can't wait to see what else I will be able to do with it.
this review is for the STANLEY BRAND BOSTITCH ANTIMICROBIAL HEAVY DUTY STAPLER, model B310HDS. this stapler is 11 1/4" inches long by almost 3" inches wide. the tallest point is 6 1/4" inches. it has 2 rubber end caps that curve underneath the bottom to support the stapler and prevents it from sliding or from scratching the surface you are working on. this stapler takes stanley bostitch staples SB35. it can staple up to 130 sheets of paper, from 1/4" inch(6mm)which does 25 sheetsto 3/8" inch(9mm) which is 55 sheets, 1/2" inch(12mm)to 85 sheets, then 5/8" inch(15mm)which is up to 130 sheets. the stapler itself is made of a heavy duty SOLID METAL and attached to the base is a heavy duty plastic guide that slides on a numbered etched grid under the staplers handle. this helps to keep the papers straight as well. to load the stapler, you depress the hard plastic square at the back end of the handle and it will slide out. pull that all the way out, load the staples and then replace the loader square and spring that is attached. it loads the same as the stanley brand house staplers. this stapler will go through cardboard as well, but you need to use the correct size staples for the thickness, otherwise the staples will get stuck and removing the bent used staple is not the easiest thing to do. to clear a jammed or bent or blocked staple, place a pencil or stick(about the thickness of a pencil) and place it horizontally behind the clinch plate. now you can freely press down on the handle which should express the jammed staple. if it is blocked or stuck, you may have to use a pliers to grip the staple and pull down on it. this STANLEY BOSTITCH ANTIMICROBIAL HEAVY DUTY STAPLER is so heavy and strong that i dont think anything could damage it. its a great item to add to your office supplies, especially if you have alot of multi paperwork that needs stapling. it saves time too.
