Weider Max Home Gym

I've worked out with weights for years but I developed tendonitis in my right shoulder and I can't bench press without pain. This bowflex-style home gym is much easier on the joints and I can get a good workout with little shoulder pain. It's so easy to use that I'm doing more exercises than I normally do and getting a better full body workout. The quality is good for the price, I checked the bowflex out at Sears, I don't see any difference in quality. I had some problem putting the bottom roller on the bench under the seat cushion, fortunately my wife figured it out. It takes time to put together but nothing was missing. Overall, I feel confident that this home gym will help me maintain and enhance my physique.

Got my home gym last week. Box came in tact but one part was missing (was able to find a substitute at home depot but weider will ship the replacement part next week). Took about 7 hours to assemble with 2 people. We took our time. You will need a 2nd person to assist with assembly and a ratchet or wrench set will come in very handy. The gym is sturdy for a gym in this price range. I bought it to do light workouts on my off days from the gym. It will not replace my gym membership, just supplement it. The resistance bars are ok, a little weak for legs but good for everything else. My buddy that is a gym rat used it and he was impressed with the resistance from the bars. If I start to outgrow the resistance I will purchase the additional bar upgrade in the future. Overall it's a decent product for the price. I got what I paid for and I'm content with this home gym.

The home gym is ok for beginners and light workouts. The power bars don't seem to amount to 220 lbs. It feels more like 130 to 140 when bench pressing. There is a 100 pound additional bar you can purchase but the cost is outrageous at around $190 + shipping. The lat bar is also not included in this model, and you will want to order it separate. Check around for price anywhere from $36 to $70. The unit does function well enough for the price. I have only owned it for a couple of weeks so I can not comment on how well it will last.

One part was defective and has not been replaced. They said it was out of stock and was back ordered. I have not been able to use the unit even after several weeks.

This machine is a great product, very affordable, and does the job. The only thing that I would recommend is upgrading the weight to the 400 lbs. Other then that it is great.
