Features met our needs. Price was in our budget. Assembly instructions could be better written. Packaging of hardware components could be better arranged - as in the order that they are used in assembly. Assembly diagram could be made easier to read - as in larger pics. Some assembly components not shown in diagram. You have to read between the lines and do a little thinking. Some diagrams need instructions along with pics for better clarity. Knob handle that replaced crank handle is a step backward from our previous model grill.

This grill only has vents on one side, the coals are only hot on that side. Vents are needed on both sides. I cook on charcoal grills several times per week and I have been running into the same problem each time. I purchased this grill in early May and I am continually having the same problems. I need to Vent.

My wife brought me this grill about two years ago and I must say it was a great deal for me. I used it three to four times and month to grill for my neighbors and friends and I never had any problems with it while I owned it. Cleaning was easy for me, instead of using a grill brush I used aluminum foil, and I didn't have any problems with the charcoal rack. Due to my move, I gave it to my neighbors. This grill worked great for me.

Last summer I got into grilling, and my wife purchased me this grill for my birthday. I was relatively new to grilling, and was very happy with this product at first. However, if you are an experienced grillmaster, do not buy this grill... it is great for learning, but after 1 year I came back to buy a replacement for this one and thought I would leave my review after 1 year of use. At first, everything works great (except the side-table does not stay flat, but was never a huge deal and did hold all the weight I needed (pan, grilling items, several steaks on a plate, etc). However, over time the table warps due to weather and becomes less and less effective. The bottom rack that the coals rest on does "melt" and bow after the first use, but continued to function just fine, that is, until it rusted completely through. The major problem with this grill is RUST. I kept it covered by a grill cover on my deck when not in use, and STILL after several months in Kentucky it was no longer black, but Rust-Brown. I sanded the whole thing, puchased some top-dollar high-heat grill paint, 2 months later, entirely rusted again. By the time winter was over, the ash-catching pan had rusted completely through and fallen off, and the coal-tray had rusted entirely through, and the thing was still a grill only in name. Last year the grill worked fine until the first storm came through and wind tipped it over, Breaking the height adjustment mechanism permanently. After that I had to rig up to set at a single desired height. I am a mechanical engineer and thought I could re-assemble the lifting mechanism but several non-replacable parts had broken in the (first of many) tip-over from the storm. All-in all, I was able to continue to cook on the grill all year, and now I know what-not-to-do with my grill as I am purchasing my 2nd. So, word to the beginners: #1) KEEP THE GRILL COVERED, BUT STILL BE PREPARED TO BATTLE RUST. #2) TIE IT DOWN IN A WAY THAT IT WON'T TIP IN THE WIND. #3) TAKE VERY GOOD OVERALL CARE IF IT, KEEP IT CLEAN, KEEP IT COVERED. If you are an expert, again, get a better grill. You get what you pay for. I feel if I had gotten a very nice, expensive grill, I would have destroyed it as well through my inexperience. If you are a beginner, this is the grill for you to learn (and make mistakes) on. So, I recommend it to the beginner, and I don't to the intermediate/experts.
