ProForm 590 E Elliptical

This elliptical is pretty solid and quiet. I can hear the TV without turning up the volume. I took a chance and ordered it online without having seen or tested one, so I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. Just a heads up it is very heavy and it will take two people (at least one mechanically saavy) to assemble some of it. We took the pieces out of the box and carried them upstairs individually before assembly. Not sure how we could have gotten it upstairs fully assembled. The weight-loss routines are sufficiently tough. The features are great. The only drawback is that the connection to the iPod is just a MP3 line in and there is no place to really perch your iPod so I don't use it. I should also mention that when we first unboxed the elliptical, the display was crushed. We called the manufacturer's 1800 number and they shipped out a new one right away, no questions asked. So while it delayed our use a almost a week, I was completely satisified with how the manufacturer handled the situation and made it right.

Different workout routines, weight loss OR performance, LOVE this machine. Very quiet when operating, different levels, adjustable incline. We use MP3 separate, not the speakers. It replaced a 10+ year old pro-form treadmill. We hope this lasts as long.

Very heavy box appears to be well made however the correct parts were not in the box. The company does not make phone calls and only wants to correspond via email. Did not apologize for not sending one of the main componets of the machine and no shipping estimate on when we will receive the correct part from them. Can not assemble or use until we get the 5 foot part that was missing that propels the machine. Wal mart.com was great but the company that manufacturers the machine not very professional.

This machine is probably overkill for me, but I needed to do it. (I'm 68 and way out of shape.) The machine went together easily for me (I'm single, too.) and it is bigger in my trailer than it was in the store, lol. Took a couple hours for me, but went well. The machine has numerous workout programs with it, plus I bought the Jillian Michaels Level 1 workout SD card. The machine is smooth to operate. It has resistance levels, easy to change. Only bad thing is I think the cup holder is in an inconvenient place, and the heart-rate monitor is difficult to get a good reading off of.

You can go wrong with this. It does take some time assemble but everything was there including tools to assemble it. I put it together in about two hours and I did it myself. I really like how they package the hardware. The box is very heavy and big. You need a van or mini van to transport it and it takes two people to lift it. It's a great exercise machine and I use it daily. The machine is very stable. Walmart had an excellent price on this. This is the first time I used "Ship To Store" and it was a good experience.
