The only good thing about these bottles is that they come in nice colors and sizes, that's it. I don't know why they're called VentAire because anytime my baby girl is feeding you could see all of the bubbles inside of the bottle, just like a typical $1.50 bottle and the corner store, and you have to hold it just right or it will leak all over, not to mention that it leaks from the bottom if not put on correctly. Also cleaning these things are a mess, honestly there are about 5 pieces to one bottle. I'll just stick with Playtex drop in bottles, they are the best!!
These bottles are great my son has colic and is very winey i can not use cheap bottles for him because too much air comes in and they make him throw up these are fantastic reduces air and colic there not perfect but they work great for my baby and hes now four months i wont change these bottles for anything
I bought this for my newborn 2month old daughter about a month ago, and i think this ventaire system is way better then the Drop-In-System, why waste your time and money on the little bags. The Ventaire is the same thing, but, without the bags. And they really aren't that hard to put together. My daughter loves these bottles. There pecfect for any newborn with gas and colic. I highly recommed this product if you don't wanna waste your money on bags. Its 2 for the price of 1.
I love these bottles! We used to use the Soothie bottles but I could hear my daughter swallowing air with them. Not with these! The only sound I hear is air coming OUT of the bottle when I prepare it. It really helped with her gas and spit up. The only "complaint" I have is now she likes to fall asleep while eating because it's so similar to the breast (she only did that while breastfeeding). She likes the shape and texture of the wide version and since switching seems to have a better latch when breastfeeding. It takes an extra minute having to wash 6 parts instead of 3 but it's no big deal. I never had any problems with reassembling or leaks, it's really simple, just don't put the vent on upside down. As for cleaning, if you use a bottle brush it will wash everything just fine. They're perfect in my book.
I have now had my 16-6oz bottles for almost 4 years. Taking them apart to wash the individual parts can be time consuming, but that's why I bought 16 bottles, so I only have to wash them once a week (after being rinsed out after each use of course). Some of the bottom vents don't fit in some of the bases, but I have plenty to get the right fit. I have also always handwashed them in warm soapy water & rinsed in hot/very warm water and air-dryed, which has most likely contributed to them still being in good condition (granted they were in a non-attic stored box for 2 years too). I went back to work after 12w with my first son (just turned 4) & 8w with my 2nd son, now 3.5mo old. It's best to get your baby used to these nipples (or any bottle for that matter) for a few days before sending them to daycare, which eases the nipple transition for those that pump at work (like I do) and then breast-feed them at home (or are bottle-fed while apart from your little one, ie. running errands). And, my breastfed boys never had colic or never really spit up either.
