Glimpse FPV RTF

For me it was a steep but quick learning curve. Love this thing but still have a lot to learn in terms of stable flight. Good to know the quad basics (4 props/motors two of which spin clockwise and two spin counterclockwise; the propellers are DIFFERENT for each type of motor). After the light bulb went off and I could maneuver reasonably well, I put on new propellers since the others were pretty beat. Then the quad couldn't take off though it had plenty of power. Turned out the props were on the wrong motors. Outside of that and not a very long run time, can't beat the fun factor on this. Got it to get overhead views of our home in the country. Hope to get good enough to get overhead video shots of our sheep. Including a picture of our garden from the maiden voyage.

Over all I think the Glimpse is a will built product. But.........I am a newbie so maybe this review will not be helpful to everyone. I used a room in my home to learn how to fly it. What I found really fast was that since there is no blade guard 360 around the Glimpse when it crashed it more likely than not it broke a blade. To fix that problem I took a thin metal coat hanger from the closet and molded a guard 360 around the lower prat of the Glimpse legs. That solved about 75% of my broken blade problem. Next problem. I finally got up enough courage to introduce my Glimpse to the outdoors. Since this unit is designed with the rotating blades below the body when it landed on the grass it immediately chewed some grass into the blades. A mess. Clean the blades, re-fly. clean the blades etc. To fix this problem I attached some coat hanger wire like an "X" under the blades. Now when it lands on the grass it does not chew up grass (as much). I have replaced the coat hanger wire with 19ga stainless wire. Since I have "hacked" the Glimpse all is fine

I have owned quite a few quads and multirotors and this was second to the worst. The wifi barely works so it is useless for fpv. It records video but there are much cheaper quads that do that. Half of my videos couldn't even be opened up in any software. It flew away on me in the end. And not because of wind. It flew into the wind and was very deliberate in its course. Didn't respond to any input. The wifi range is very poor. It is marketed as an indoor and outdoor quad but very lame outdoors. Needs a lot of trimming as well. My recommendation would be to spend your money on something else.

The glimpse. It has its up and downs. The fpv is wifi it does not take a hit very good. Fun to fly and watch. Easy beginner quad.
