Philips 7810XL Shaver

Long ago in the late 60's I bought a rechargeable Norelco that was heavy, noisy, and turned rather slowly. It shaved okay if I went rather slow over my face two or three times. Finally, I replaced it with a corded model that was not rechargeable and it was much better. It was quiter, the motor was faster, and I got a cleaner shave. I swore no more rechargeables--ever. Then Norelco offered this deal, a rechargeable razor with a personal grooming trimmer. The deal was $20 less that the razor alone. The razor is so quiet that I worried that it was the plague of the slow turning rechargeable rechargeable from the 60's. It wasn't. It shaves very good and is so quiet. I've only had it a week and only charged it once. I've shaved every day which is unusual and it is an excellent razor. In the past, I have been very lax in cleaning the razor. Now I do it every time that I shave.

I have used several different Norelco razors over the years and this one is the nicest yet. Quiet running, lightweight and the shave is very close.

I had a shaver made by another manufacturer for about 1 year and when I went to buy replacement blades, they cost almost as much as a new razor and when shaving, it would take me over 5 minutes and still I would need a safety razor to catch a few whiskers that would be missed. After reading other reviews, I chose this model with a little apprehension. After opening the box, I gave it a full charge and thought I would need to at least use the trimmer to take away my 6 day growth before proceeding, but decided too give it a try expecting a few pulled whiskers. To my suprise it gave me a very clean shave in about 4 minutes with no pulls. It is quiet and now shaving every day, it only takes me about 1 minute to shave.

Excellent electric shaver for the price. Light weight but good quality. Provides a very decent shave. No need to purchase any more expensive Philips Norelco model; this one does the job. Recharge cord is absolutely long enough to provide electric power source to use razor if it has become uncharged and not yet charged up again.

We have liked the Norelco razors and they are generally worth the extra amount they may cost. They have many features that make them useful and give a good close shave.
