Lands' End Men's Classic Squall Jacket

Late 1983 - early 1984 I ordered a white Squall size M. I goes with all my shirts and trousers, breaks the wind - and keeps me warm. With a wool sweater underneath - it enabled this old sailor to get comfortably thru a winter visit to Mount Washington.

I've worn a Squall for a long as I can remember. All colors. My favorite was a color block version worn in the 90s. When my son was an infant, I used to tuck him inside the front of the jacket. The style has changed a little over the years, but I'd highly recommend it. Oh, and bring back the color block.

I bought this jacket and I am pleased with it overall except the zipper fastening is flawed and necessitates aligning the bottom bracket in place before sliding the insert pin to start the zipping up. At first I thought it was a minor inconvenience and let it go, but the more I used it the more annoying it became to me and decided it was enough to initiate a replacement, only to discover I'm 2 days over 90 days and out of the window to have the defect replaced. So do watch out for the zipper mechanism if you buy this jacket and get it promptly addressed if it is defective.

I recently purchased my 4th one over the last thirty years they are best.These jackets are surprisingly warm. When I buy a new one I use mold when I go fishing or whatever I don't have to be as careful if it gets dirty don't worry just throw it in the washer then the dryer they come out like new. They are the Best!!

I have several of the Lands End squall jacket. Got one for my dad for Christmas. This jacket is waterproof and warm. If you wear a sweater it perfect for very cold weather, but on a cooler day you're not sweating because it's too much. Just a good balance. Quality materials and zipper
