We’ve been perfecting this jacket since the early 80s and are proud to say that it’s evolved into a comfortable cool classic that works as hard as it plays. The waterproof and windproof shell deliver the protection you need on cold wet days from autumn to spring earning it an honored place in our Squall® family of outerwear. The sporty cut and style make this coat easier to move in and it doesn’t add the bulk or weight of a massive hooded parka or a typical quilted puffer. You’ll find that getting things done – whether that means running errands shoveling snow or walking the dog in the woods – is easy when you put it on.Since it’s so light this heavenly coat is also packable. Toss it in your bag so you have something to wear on your weekend ski trip or even a family visit to somewhere with unpredictable weather. You’ll rest easy knowing that if a storm rolls in you’re totally prepared.Caring for this coat is easy too. When it’s dirty toss it in the machine alongside your other clothes – no special treatment is required.

I've bought several of these — in medium for me and for my wife as well as she borrowed mine and decided she wanted one as well. They are just right for me, in part because I'm not very tall and these are not too long. They are just right, are at a very reasonable price, and last a long time. Its easy to wear a hoodie or fleece under it in the winter when it's cold or without on somewhat milder days. As comfortable as an overcoat can be.

I received this jacket in 2005 as a 5 yr anniversary gift from my employer . I got red XL so I could wear over other outer wear to 8 yrs of high school football games & fall band shows. My son wore it to boy scout camping trips and it often came back with blackened sooty sleeves & front. All that soot always washed out. I don't wear it every day. I wore it mainly to the school events, to walk the dog in the morning & misc fall yard work. I had the zipper pull replaced 2 yrs ago. This jacket is fantastic. I just noticed this morning that the knit cuffs are starting to fray. I'll fix that . But I can't believe that I've had this jacket for 17 yrs and it's still in good shape. what a great gift it has been!

I buy one of these every few years. Unfortunately, this years model no longer has an inside zip pocket but only has a smallish cellphone pocket with no closing method. Also, the fleece lining no longer goes all the way to the zipper so there is a potential cold zone all up the front.

I got this jacket several weeks ago. It's a nice jacket--but not a great jacket. The zipper works well, the jacket is well designed, it serves my needs. BUT, the pockets stink!! They're so shallow I can barely get my cell phone in them; and it's a small phone. Not a biggish one. The thing that saves the jacket is that the pockets have nice zippers. So the zippers keep my phone locked in. But if the jacket were like my Patagonia or Outdoor Research jackets, it would have deeper pockets like men's jackets of old.

I bought my husband a Squall jacket when we were first married. He loved it and wore it often, and finally wore it out. He wanted the same jacket as a replacement. Well, that one wore out after several years, also. The one I just ordered is a Christmas present because he still feels it's the perfect jacket- comfortable, durable, long-wearing and nice looking!
