Ladybug Sandbox

I purchased this based on what I had read in earlier reviews with understanding that it was a small sandbox. Have 2 great grandchildren 1 and 2 years old, both are enjoying it very much although individually is better due to size. Had big winds, no problem with top yet.

I thought this would be bigger, I was thinking it would be like the green turtle sand box. The ladybug sandbox is smaller, the lid does not secure to anything, just slides on and off. When any wind blows the lid flies off. There really isn't room for the kids to play inside the sand box, too small. It is hard to put anything on top of the lid to hold it on as the plastic is too thin and the lid caves in. I would tell friends about this before recommending it to them and I would not purchase the item again.

I had my reservations about the size, but I was surprised. Both my 2 year old and my 4 year old fit in it comfortably. They spend hours daily playing in it. Walmart has colored sand to fill it with as well! Pink, blue, purple, and green! The really good news about the colored sand is that you know when they are clean..lol

I was very pleased with this sandbox for 2 of my grandkids. Most stores were out of sandboxes (I started looking in June) and was especially happy with the reasonable shipping (some stores charged as much as the sandbox to deliver). It's big enough for toddlers to sit in and has attached cover to keep rain and pets from using as litter box. I bought one years ago for my oldest grandchild and it lasted for years.

I bought this for our 2 year old especially liking that it was on the smaller side so she wouldn't be tempted to sit in the sand and get sand all over herself. She absolutely adores this sandbox and it is the first thing she runs to when she goes outside to play. She has no problem whatsoever sitting or squatting on the side to play in the sand. The lid fits perfectly and stays on. Although we live in the country, we have yet to have any critters crawl get into it. It has so far lived up to it's Step 2 name and has proven to be very durable. We would most definitely recommend this product!!
