Bausch + Lomb ointment can be applied one or more times a day, or as directed by a doctor. This product contains no mercurial compounds such as Thimerosal. The ointment is available without a prescription but should be used upon recommendation by an eye care professional. This product is used to reduce swelling of the surface of the eye (cornea) in certain eye conditions. Decreasing swelling of the cornea may lessen eye discomfort or irritation caused by the swelling.
