I have had an Android for the last two years and by no means did that phone measure in quality or features to the Replenish. I am also thrilled with the fact that it is eco-friendly, that was my main selling point, I have been making changes in my life everyway I can to reduce my "footprint" and if I can with my phone than I will!
This phone never ceases to disappoint. I would start by listing the good things about it, but the only thing I can think of is the Android 2.3 operating system, which of course, is not unique to this phone. Oh, and that it's cheap, which leads to my major complaint: the build quality is horrendous. The entire phone is made of cheap plastic, with metallic paint that only makes it look cheaper. I understand that plastic can be re-used, which makes it "eco-friendly" but metal is just as recyclable. A metal outer body would have made the phone look and feel like a higher quality piece. I appreciate that the plastic screen doesn't shatter when the phone is dropped, but after a few weeks of use mine was covered in nicks and scratches. In addition to cheapness on the outside, the cost cutting continues on the inside: The 600mhz CPU not only is too weak to run many newer apps smoothly, but since it has to work at full throttle to do anything, the phone becomes hot to the touch, and the battery life is cut to unacceptable levels. At best, I can make it 8 hours before the phone dies. The small 240x320 display offers such low resolution that you can see individual pixels, and the measly 160mb of internal memory means that you'll hardly have room for your browser cache, let alone any apps. The 2.0MP camera takes pictures just a bit better than my phone from 2004, and the video quality is not even worth getting into. And if the standard-issue cheapness wasn't enough, my phone was cursed with a defective micro USB port, making the phone think it's charging all the time, even when unplugged. This causes the charging LED to remain stuck on, which drains my already terrible battery life to an unusable 3 hours. The idea of an eco-friendly phone is nice, but this one was built too cheaply to be a game-changer. I would have had no problem paying more for the phone, had the build quality and hardware been increased to match the price. But looks like I'll have to pay double the price anyways, the defective hardware means I have to buy another phone. I love Samsung products, and I'll stick with them, but this time I'll have to go with a higher quality device, like a Nexus S 4g.
this is my first smart phone. im enjoying it very much. must add that the battery needs charged more than any phone i have ever had and that talking on it causes it to get very warm. and also uses alot of battery. also i cant find the solar panel battery cover anywhere though i have heard about it. would be nice if i can find an extended life battery for the phone as well.... otherwise i love all the options and am impressed with its 2.0 megapixel camera. though.. it could've offered a flash.
Unexpectedly poor phone. Freezes, short battery life and plagued with battery overheating issues. Not enough memory and apps have to be removed to get the phone to function. Overall very disappointing experience. I thought it was great idea and Sprint offered no extra data cost for this "eco friendly" phone. Sadly, I will need to get another phone to take it's place as I can not handle the frustration of this particular model much longer. I don't think I can hold out until May for a new phone. Only had this one 7 months.
I'll be quite honest. This is only the second phone I have ever owned- my first being a Nokia C3-00. Though in between, I've put my hands on all sorts of touchscreen phones (I'll admit, this is my first touching an android OS ). So, its hard to chose once you've tried the best. When I first got this phone, I didn't know what to expect. But after having it for a couple of months, you begin to love it. The touch screen is VERY responsive, and there isn't much 'touch' lag- that is, when you slide things up, down, left, and right- and there's a bunch of skipping. Another, with the right settings- this phone outlasted most of all the other phones my family owns in terms of battery life. Lastly, the Wi-Fi and the touch and physical keyboards are always a plus. Most web-based items work, however there is no flash. if there is, you cant upgrade it for most sites. The media player, picture viewer, and video gallery are rather neat- and the live wallpapers are great too. All in all, this phone exceeded my expectations for a no-contract phone at the price I bought it for (from where I purchased)
