Use this often to make bowel movements easier however this is not the type with the laxative. This brand is usually fresh is much less expensive than a name brand with same ingredient, docusate sodium (Equate does make a stool softener w/laxative and it is usually on the shelves in close proximity to the type without.) Great for people that have constant constipation or eat foods that cause it.

This product works great. Being in wafer form makes them convenient to take anywhere. No cups or mixing in order to get your daily dose of fiber. The thing is they are not cheap if you buy them in the store. And the apple flavor isn't available anywhere. So when I saw that you can get these cheaper online, I bought three boxes.! Items arrived fast and packaged well. The individual boxes were intact and not a dent on it. The problem is the individual packets are loose inside and I imagine the amount of movement and passing around these boxes go through in shipping. Disappointed that the contents of all three boxes were crumbled. Metamucil should add some plastic padding inside (think Oreo cookies packaging).

The person I bought these for was very happy when I got both the brand name tablets he requested and then decided I would also bring him a bottle of the generic store brand, given that it was soooo much less. From that time on he told me to get the store brand because it was just as good as the brand name.

Great product. Works good if you have a stool problem.
