I've had one of these inflatable sport kayaks now for 6 years and liked it so much, I just bought another one for my wife. I often leave it in the back of my minivan so I can go kayaking any time I have a chance. I just pull up to the river, inflate my kayak and off I go. When I'm done, I deflate it, roll it up and put it back in the back of my van. I found a nice duffle bag that they both fit in rolled up side by side. We often go with two on it and it goes great--Of course your but will get wet and if you are using two kayak paddles you have to get coordinated on your paddling.
The idea was great, however, the product was not. Let me clarify. The problem with the kayak was that once you were in it, you sat very low in the water. Any movement from side to side (i.e. leaning to the side in order to place the oar into the clips) allowed water to enter and you spent the rest of the time sitting in a pool of water. It did not matter if you weighed 200 lbs or 125lbs. This is very uncomfortable and as such I returned the product.
I have arthritis among other age related problems and I could no longer get in or out of my kayak and I thought I would never be able to kayak again until I tried this one. I can get in butt first without straddling it and out the same way. I'm thrilled with it. I've have an electric pump that works off a plug so I ordered a rechargeable air pump which will work well for me. I can easily lift my kayak and carry it a block to get to the water. I'm very excited about it. All my friends and neighbors are trying it. I won't go sea kayaking in it, but I can use it the bay.
I'm a bit surprised by some of the 4- and 5-star reviews, but to each his own. This is a nice toy, probably worth the $71 I paid, but definitely not what I'd call a kayak unless — maybe — you're in absolute calm conditions. I've only been out in it once so far, since I was frankly bored trying to fight a 5mph wind on a (thankfully) small lake. Might be fun to drift down a small river in it, maybe I'll get around to that. It did inflate/deflate quite nicely and seems fairly rugged. Mine is blue.
I purchased two bundle pack Sevylor 1-Person Sport Kayak consisting of an inflatable kayak, 2 oars and an air pump. The pump is loud and awkward to handle. It can only be used in an electrical outlet and has no adapter to use in the car. I never made it to the water because one of the kayaks had an air leak, so I can't give a review of how it handles. I returned both to Walmart.
