Smart Balance Original Buttery Spread, 45 oz Tub

Our family loves this butter, it's really buttery tasting. It's great on everything and good to cook with. Spreads easily on toast.

I thought it was just me until I read the reviews. This is now terrible. It use to taste more buttery than butter. I absolutely loved this and purchased it for many years. Sadly like many companies are doing, they changed something to save money. Change quality and hope nobody notices. This was dramatically noticeable. They saved money but they lost their loyal customers. If they don't go back to the original ingredients and recipe they may even go out of business. This isn't just ingredients, it tastes awful.

Even though photo in app says this is old formula without all the added water, the actual item I got with my order is the new one with the water. I refused it and asked for a refund at pickup. Was told could not do, that I had to go to app to get refund. So far app right now isn’t working for refunds.

WATER is now the first ingredient. I have trusted Smart Balance as our go to for cooking, baking and eating for 10-15 years. It’s a hazard to use for cooking now because I’m basically pouring water in the hot skillet. Doesn’t melt on toast. It just sits there. We noticed right away that the color and texture was off and then it didn’t melt on toast, so I checked the percent of oil in it on the front. It has dropped by 30-40%. If I had wanted a WATER spread I would buy country crock. I will NOT be buying this again. It’s an insult to make this drastic change with no notice on the package, thinking people are stupid enough to not figure out that you cheapened and ruined your awesome product.

New formula is awful. I have to pour water off of the top every time I take it out of the fridge. Glad I read these reviews - I thought I had gotten a bad tub. For the price of this product, I expect much more. I complained to Conagra through their website. I urge others to do the same.
