Alain Delon plays the legendary masked hero who must use his cunning and master swordsmanship to remove the evil Colonel Huerta (Stanely Baker) from power in this action-packed adventure. While the corrupt Huerta oppresses the people of small Mexican province, Diego, the handsome new governor arrives where he is befriended by Francisco the monk (Giampiero Albertini), and eventually falls in love with the beautiful Hortensia (Ottavia Piccolo). After Diego tricks Huerta and the sadistic Sergeant Garcia (Moustache) into a false sense of security, he transforms himself into Zorro fighting the colonel and his men until the townspeople are avenged and peace is restored.
