e.l.f. Cosmetics Hypershine Lip Gloss, Vixen, 0.05 oz

I purchased e.l.f. Essential Hypershine Gloss in "Fairy" as part of my first ever e.l.f. purchase online. I do not notice an unpleasant odor as some reviews mentioned, nor do I find the product overly sticky, but I applied a very thin coating to my lips. "Fairy is not highly pigmented, being a very pale. pink with a lovely gold luster that really accentuates pinks and nudes beautifully. I do not find the product particularly long wearing, but I have found few glosses that really are long wearing. I have had this product for about three months now, and still have plenty left, I calculate if I used the product daily, it would likely last about a month, which I think is a pretty excellent value for one dollar. I will definately order "Fairy" again!

Overall, I loved this lip gloss. I didn't find it to be particularly moisturizing, but it wasn't drying either. I have it in the colors Flirt and two others, and I love the color that shows up. I loved to application method (the brush like thing) and it gives and even gloss, but I've found that after using it there's always a little bit of gloss left in the brush, so it looked a little gross and made the entire cap sticky. For the price, though, I loved it and will buy more.

I bought Vixen, Bubblegum, Fairy and Mauve(so glad to see ELF in more stores!). Vixen-A sheer, cool-toned berry red with no shimmer. It's not the greatest color on me, but it's still very wearable, especially for daytime (despite the name). Mauve-This color looked HIDEOUS in the package-like a grayed purple-brown dead color. But when put on, it's a very nice natural nude brown with no shimmer. A winner! Bubblegum-A light but bright opague pink with no shimmer, very true to its name. Fairy-A sheer, cool pink with lilac interference flip shimmer. It's such a cool, unique color...that does absolutely nothing for me. I wear it anyway! I like these glosses. Of these colors I like Mauve the best. They do tend to be sticky but I'm fine with it. These tubes don't have a lot of gloss in them so they run out very quickly, so I mainly buy them to experiment with different colors.

I tried this again in Honey after having one I hated (figuring it was from a bad batch or the discontinued color). PROS: Smells like flowers. The container. One click gets the perfect amount of gloss! Shiny. Glittery. Slight bit of color, looks natural. CONS: Tastes like...flowers. ha. Not true to swatch color-it shows a rich golden honey color but this is a pale taupey-beige with a little bronze shimmer. Still a nice color though. A bit sticky, but not disgustingly sticky like the last one I had. Also, this is solved by putting on a little chapstick first. Overall, I like these and will probably try other colors as well.

I bought this gloss recently, and as always with ELF lip products, it did not disappoint! I bought this item in Blossom, and I was expecting not to like it, but I was pleasantly surprised! =) First of all, I am unsure as to why this gloss is call Hypershine Lip Gloss, because it didn't give my lips much of a shine at all. It did give a slight sheen that is nice, but no shine. Secondly, upon first applying it and rubbing my lips together, I found this gloss to be just as moisturing as my favorite lip balm. I wore it for a few days just to test it out and found this quality to be consistent. It is also pretty long lasting when applied. Because of it's moisturizing factor, while playing around with a makeup look one day, I decided to layer Blossom underneath another lip gloss and the two products together gave the perfect moisturizing, shiny, pigmented lip look! Therefore, I have decided that this gloss is my go-to "lip balm" for moisturizing my lips for lipstick and pigmented glosses. It looks AWESOME paired with color and helps the color product to last longer! It's also nice to use a balm for everyday use. Even though it's sheer and lacks color payoff for my pigmented lips, I plan to buy other shades to match to my variety of lipsticks and lip gloss colors. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this stuff (although not for the reason it's intended lol), and I'm so glad I finally decided to try it!
