I thought at first that it was a weird texture, but after watching a review on them I realized it was supposed to be a gel/cream and mine was had come dried out. I can still get pigment out of it if I use my finger, but it lays on a bit chunkier than it's supposed to and the glitter is a bit more pronounced that it would be if it was still creamy.
I bought this product in Soiree on sale a while ago and love it. It's got a lovely, sparkly mauve color to it and has a putty-like consistency. It's not difficult to apply and is a perfect shade for blue/gray eyes that doesn't look too neutral or too neon in color. Best blended with cool browns.
This eyeshadow was very thick and difficult to spread. Despite this, It was very pigmented and prominent. The actual colour was very pretty and glittery however, it was chunky and inconsistent. The best way to apply this is with a wet, stiff brush. Overall it was nice and bright but not the best elf product. I used in combination with elf eyeshadow primer.
I was expecting so much because I loved the smudge pots. I bought Soiree and party, hoping to get a nice pinkish color and a cool gel like liner to use for party. Both are mostly sparkles, not much pigment. Also doesn't last as long. Yes its easy to blend but aside from that its just sparkles to me. If you wanna try elf, get the smudge pots! So awesome!
I've got Celebration and soirée, and always use them as a base (I've got oily lids) and it creates a finely milled subtle glitter effect under any eyeshadow! Though they have an odd mouse texture- it's almost impossible to use a brush- it's best to use your fingers, but they create a gorgeous effect!
