This is my new go to when I want a quick fix. Here's what I do: Put concealer on eyelids (after treatment, of course), put a light dusting of shimmery eye shadow in a light shade over whole lid, use a eye shadow blender brush and dip/swirl in shadow pot, smooth across eye crease very lightly and then stipple afterwards. For older gals, the first light-touch application works very well. The stippling deepens the color and fills in all the little "wrinkle tracks" that are still hanging around. Then I just swirl a q-tip into the pot 'till there's color on the swab and swipe across my lower lids. Voila! Easy, natural and quick day look. Color I got was Cruisin' Chic. SURE WISH THEY'D COME OUT WITH MORE COLORS; THESE ARE SUPERB!
As a mom I needed an eyeshadow I could easily apply while on the go. This fits the bill. I can apply it with my finger (med. sized hands) or with a brush depending on the situation. It sets quickly, but once set it lasts all day. I have this in Cruisin' Chic. I've been looking for the white shade for ages. It works great as a single wash of color or as part of an overall look.
I love this stuff! The pigmentation is excellent, it's easily blended, and once it sets, it's there to stay! I can control how much or how little color I want. The color selection is very good, although I'd like to see more color choices in the future. Fingers or brushes can be used with this shadow, your choice. And the best part is that it can also be used as an effective eyeliner. KUDOS!
I have the smudge pot in two different colors, Wine Not and Cruising' Chic. They work WONDERFULLY for eyeliner! Rich and pigmented color, and it stays on all day. However, they didn't work so well for me as eyeshadow. It goes on really thick and is very difficult to smudge out or blot excess. Also, after it dries, if I dab at it, it crumbles and makes a mess. Also, the colors represented online are NOT all the same as the actual colors. The color Cruising' Chic is shown as a mauve shade, while in reality it is a tan. The Wine Not color actually has more grayish-reddish undertones than what is pictured. So, this product makes a wonderful eyeliner but not a good eyeshadow. Just as a note, all these colors are shimmery, not matte.
I bought a couple of these a few months ago and absolutely adore them! They still look almost completely full even though I use them both weekly. I got Back to Basics and Wine Not. I love using Back to Basics as a base color and as a lid color, it works for both. It looks great with the Long-Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow in the color Toast. Wine Not is a great color in the outcorner, love using it when I'm going to go hang with my girls! Hearing the name and looking at the actual Smudge Pot I expected Wine Not to have a more purple or red tone to it. That is the only thing that even came close to disappointing me on this product. I usually apply these with my fingers then blend with a brush and it works great for me. My friend has used my sludge pots as well and she loves them too!
