As a mom I needed an eyeshadow I could easily apply while on the go. This fits the bill. I can apply it with my finger (med. sized hands) or with a brush depending on the situation. It sets quickly, but once set it lasts all day. I have this in Cruisin' Chic. I've been looking for the white shade for ages. It works great as a single wash of color or as part of an overall look.
The ELF smudge pot is The ONLY cream based eyeshadow I've found that if placed in the corner of my eyes as a primer for my powder shadow never comes off during the day. I haven't been able to locate it at the stores and I'm almost out...please don't discontinue this product it needs promoted as an awesome primer...so many women have trouble keeping their shadow in place in the corners of their eyes, this stops that problem. No matter what happens to the powder shadow, the cream base of the smudge pot doesn't rub off, so you always look like your eyeshadow is in place!!! I've gotten a lot of compliments on this...just wanted ELF to know...
I love this stuff! The pigmentation is excellent, it's easily blended, and once it sets, it's there to stay! I can control how much or how little color I want. The color selection is very good, although I'd like to see more color choices in the future. Fingers or brushes can be used with this shadow, your choice. And the best part is that it can also be used as an effective eyeliner. KUDOS!
No joke, this is by far the best eye shadow I have ever purchased! It is a beautiful color (I have Back to Basics) and it stays ALL DAY! You don't have to cake it on to get it to show up, it literally is only one dip of my smudge brush and that's it for one eye. This is going to last me a long time! I just placed and order for the Gotta Glow one and I can't wait to try that one out!
I own Ain't That Sweet and Gotta Glow. It took me a hot minute to figure out the best application method. This formula is very light weight and actually moussey in a way, good moussey though. I apply these with my finger, a little goes a very long way, and then I quickly take a flat synthetic brush (I use a concealer brush) and blend out the edges. My favorite way to use this is as an all over lid color. They work great for days when you need a little something on your lid in a hurry. WARNING: When these babies set they aren't going ANYWHERE. I have hooded lids and I sometimes have transfer, which sucks cuz I love wearing sparkly shadow on my lids. But if you have hooded or oily lids, these will be your best friend. I'm telling you, they DO NOT BUDGE. I also like to use these as a base on my lid if I am applying a shadow that may have questionable transfer. I wanted to mention, as well, that I have had Gotta Glow for more then a year now and it is still very creamy, hasn't dried out in the slightest. The lid screws on and it stays tight so these shadows are more likely to expire from time more so then drying out. When open, I typically flip the pot upside down and set it on the counter while using them. That really helps lengthen its life. Hopefully that answers some questions that I have seen about that. Honestly friends, these Smudge Pots are a great formula, beautiful colors, high quality packaging, and phenomenal price. IMO, there is nothing to ride the fence about. This is a solid product that performs on the highest of level. Just buy one to try out and I'll bet you come back for more.
