I've been through so many sets of Tupperware containers until I stumbled upon the Purple Swirl Premier pieces. I literally threw away every single other piece of Tupperware that I had and ONLY have these. I've had them for over 3 years and haven't had to throw any away due to stains or cracking. Problem is, I need a few more of some of the sizes and I cannot find them anywhere. I didn't even care if they were in one of the other colors, I just needed more. I understand wanting to rebrand and upgrade; however, in my opinion, the new Premier pieces are not equivalent. My child recently moved away from home and is begging me for these pieces; no joke. Please consider bringing back the swirl Premier pieces; as a set or even as individual pieces. Thank you.
I agree these are great containers because of the ability to see through them clearly and because both the containers and the lids nest so nicely - my container cabinet always looked organized. They also did not stain just like the advertising stated. Unfortunately, mine also crack - at least the old plastic (the one that sounds higher pitched when clicked with your fingernail). I have throw at least a dozen of various sizes out. I recently purchased new ones made of plastic that is a bit different because the fingernail click on the plastic sounds duller or lower pitched; but because I haven't had them a long time, I cannot tell you if they crack or not. Hope this helps.
I have/had the red set as well as the black set. My experience is that the clearer the bottoms (black lids), the more they are prone to crack, and the semi-clear (red lids) are prone to stain and melting in the microwave. One issue is that you cannot buy a set of the size that you want without the individual price being a lot more than a set that includes sizes that you don't want. Why not have an option of a set of 12, 8, or 6 of the same size?
We had our 20 piece for less than a year when they began to crack. We have never put them in the freezer or abused them. We always hand wash them, but they are hard to clean with so many grooves. I prefer to use the disposable Ziplock containers because none of them have cracked in over 7 years and they're much easier to clean not to mention the price is better.
There used to be black lids and blue lids, and I'd gotten a few of those. When I went to get a new set to replace ones that were lost while moving, all I can find is red, and I hate red. I don't want to get the non-premier because the others stain and get boil marks. So... waiting for the black lid ones to come back, or any color other than red/pink.
