When I was a child, I really enjoyed using the smelling markers and my kids are sure loving these Mr. Sketch markers, too! They are really fun to smell each one and decide which one (or more) are their favorite scents. There are more scents than when I was a kid and the quality has improved, they smell more like fresh fruit and less like chemicals. The set comes with twelve "flavors", including strawberry, watermelon, cherry, orange, banana, mint, apple, fruit punch, blueberry, grape, cinnamon and licorice. You can turn the markers in different directions to get three different widths of drawing tips from one marker, which is nice. We even played a game together where one person closed their eyes and then they had to guess what flavor was being held up for them to smell. They really had a good time guessing! I didn't realize what a big hit these would be in our house. I left them on the kitchen counter and the kids have been constantly drawing with them and smelling them. Everyone has their own opinion on which smell is the best one, although everyone's favorite is different. I personally love the warm, brown cinnamon scent, it reminds me of my favorite sweet rolls. They are really fun to draw with, too, and even with all my kids using them, they are still going strong and haven't lost their color or dried out at all.

I got the Mr. Chisel Tip water color scented markers for my niece as she is always leaving me pretty notes and loves her art projects. She is quite experienced with all the markers on the market and said that most of the kids in her neighborhood that she plays with has them too and these markers last longer than most others and have more vibrant color. The biggest attraction for the markers is that each color has a smell associated with the color. She blindfolded my husband and had him smell each one. He was able guess every color! The purple smells like grape, the brown like cinnamon, yellow, lemon, etc. The only color that was not appreciated by this age group is the black - licorice. She had alot of fun just testing family members on their "smelling" skills ! The tip of the markers are beveled so that you can color in three different sizes. They don't squeek like some markers and they flow smoothly on paper. There are 12 markers in the pack and are non toxic. My niece had hours of fun with these markers and is so happy with them. I would definitely recommend these markers. Some break or run out of marker material after a few days but these seem to be sturdy & long lasting. The scented appeal is the added fun and provide hours of entertainment. It was a great choice for my preteen niece that treasures her art work and an added bonus for me because I love seeing her little notes around the house.

These are decent art markers. They come in 12 colors and scents. The colors are all nice, but some of the scents are not so great. The green/mint color smells terrible. It’s gross. I can’t believe they chose that scent for anything that is supposed to smell good, much less something for a kid. It doesn’t smell like mint, it is just straight nasty. The other green, Apple, smells like fermented apples, more like an appletini than anything a kid should be smelling. The other colors smell better. In fact, the fruit punch smells like the Jelly Belly jelly bean factory. The banana has that sweet banana candy smell. There are no labels on the pens to say what scent they are, but there is a legend on the box. The pens are non-toxic, which is nice, because they will stain a kid’s skin. On most paper, they don’t rub or streak, but on the gloss paper my kid needed to use for a project, is smeared all over the place and ruined her project. The pens are assembled in the USA, but the packaging doesn’t say where the parts come from. The pens make 3 different sized lines, depending on how you hold it when you write. The smells last a while on the paper, but not forever. Overall, I like the pens, but not the smells of the two green ones. And, you can’t use them on glossy paper or it will streak all over the place.

Oh what fun it was to see my 7 year old grand daughters face light up when I produced these for her to use, it set off her inner artistic talents! I was surprised at how much these markers smelled like the items listed on the back of the package, the brown "cinnamon" marker smelled just like freshly baked cinnamon rolls straight from the oven. So, we had to smell each and every color repeatedly, she ran around the room and some people actually got colorful dots on their noses during their smell test, too funny! And the smell, it remains on the papers she was drawing on, so that smell test happened again with her artwork. She was absolutely thrilled with these markers. And the assortment of colors are sure to please any artistic child. The markers flowed smoothly, she spent hours using them and there was no sign of them giving out. I would certainly recommend these markers to anyone that has and artistic child out there, or even for a grown up that loves to colorfully doodle! And with school starting just right around the corner, it would be the ideal addition to any child's school supply needs.

I am quite impressed with how good and varied the scents are of Mr. Sketch Chisel Tip Scented Markers. I have always thought regular markers have such an obnoxious odor. These markers smell so nice and the scent even lingers a little after use. The chisel points are nice as they work well at creating a variety of line widths. A lot of markers I have used in the past mush up/fray after a little use till it becomes nearly impossible to make a clean line. So far these markers are holding up well. Call me a dinosaur but I had never heard of these “scented” markers before, but now, I am a convert! These will definitely be the markers I purchase from now on because: I love the smells-this 12 pack features- raspberry, watermelon, cherry, orange, banana, mint, apple, fruit punch, blueberry, grape, cinnamon and licorice The colors are bright The chisel tip allows a variety of lines (quick example in pic) and They’re priced great A word of caution: If you are working on regular paper (like standard multipurpose copy paper) and you do thick lines the markers do bleed through-the first thick blue line in picture made a couple marks on my desk which came off and that’s easy enough to remedy by putting a protective layer underneath the paper if you’re concerned about the surface below. The thin lines weren’t a problem. All things considered these are great markers for the money.
