I've always used Norelco shavers and they've lasted a very long time. I prefer a direct line cord with no rechargeable battery. My previous one had a battery that finally would not take a charge anymore, making the whole shaver so much scrap. This one has a voltage adapter in the plug, which would be okay, but the line cord is not coiled (as in past shavers), thus not only being incompatible with past shavers but also a pain in the butt to unwind, rewind, and store. One might argue that I'm not appreciating the shaver because of the line cord, but I really do hate that line cord. I also wish the shaving heads detached from the shaver body for cleaning, as they did on past Norelco shavers. The attachment seems very flimsy and prone to breakage.

I bought this because the store also carried replacement heads in stock. It seems to work easy and faster than anything I've recently owned. So far I would say it's a good buy. I bought a lower cost model, they take the same replacement heads as the expensive models.

I was use to having my other philips norelco which is no longer sold, but I am very pleased with this as a replacement. All shavers take a little time adjusting to your facial hair, but I am very pleased with the new razor.

I thought I purchased the 3100. I was cost checking and with the special discount $35 would have been a good price. What I got was a PT724/41. the names of the razors changed and what was the 3100 changed and now Walmart has the 3100 series a few different razors. The 3100 I had priced and held in my hand the day I ordered online to get the discount not even listed now.
