Garmin NUVI1490TREFURB Refurbished Nuvi 1490T 5 In. UltraThin GPS Navigator

This is a refurbished Garmin Nuvi 1490T. It arrived in like new condition. While Garmin programming is easy, it lacks some features from my old Lowrance navigator which finally died after six years of daily use. So far I am satisfied with the Nuvi and really happy with the value offered by refurbished gear.

I purchased the refurbished model for $118 and saved! Pros: Very easy to use. Voice prompts. Speaks street names. I like the way I can create a map route on Map-quest and send it to my GPS when I plug my GPS into my computer. Free map updates for 90 days of first acquiring satellites! I had to call Garmin to activate this. Cons: The processor is a bit slow which makes it hard to scroll on the map. I would recommend!

Believe it or not I have a Mercedes with a built in GPS that is so combersome to use that I purchased this Garmin GPS. It is so much simpler to use. I have no complaint with it whatsover. Good value and I definitely recommend it.

The gps is just not accurate. 10% of the points of interest are on the wrong side of the street. When they are on a divided highway it is a real pain. ALL OF THE ADDRESSES ARE OFF BY ALMOST A BLOCK. I ran a test with my old C330 against the 1490 LT. No contest. The C330 out performed the 1490 LT easily. The 1490 LT had a butcher store that had been out of business for 15 years. My 5 year old C330 had the correct buisiness at the location.

I am not in the least computer literate. This was so easy to set up and use that I haven't even referred to the user guide yet. It is clear and easy to read and announces the next action well in advance.
