I heard ziploc makes the best vacuum seal bags & they were right. I took a risk buying these even though I did not have a vacuum to suck out the air. Well I did not need a vacuum to get the air out. I zipped it, the zip seal is great, almost all the way shut & used my arm to squeeze out the air. It worked great! I bought these bags because moths ate my $500 suit jackets. The minute I realized this I got online & ordered them online, in store pickup, & picked them up the next day. Not only are the bags great protection & fit a lot of items in them but it comes with a tote bag that holds the 4 bags & zips up to add more protection. I do not have much storage bag use experience but the ones I used sucked & these are the best I have ever seen. They pack neat & compact & if I need any more vacuum storage bags I will definitely buy these again! For $20 you can not go wrong. I do not know about being waterproof because I did not try but I can not image water getting in because they are air tight once closed. I love these & I am a guy! I feel my wool clothing is %100 safe!

I tried different brands in the past and after a very short period, they all leaked and became "poofy" again. GRRRR....how very frustrating. So I looked again for vacuum seal bags and came across zip lock. I was really "iffy" on trying these but after reading the reviews I figured I'd give them a try. And glad I did because these are awesome! I love the way the bag seal. So much easier (not sure why because I don't know the theory behind what works best to keep air out) to remove the air and KEEP IT OUT. Really, I was so impressed when I vacuumed out the air from the first bag and watched how easy it was to close the flap to keep the air out. And to have a case so put the bags in after finishing is very nice; it has a "window" so you can see what is in the case - LOVE that!!! I highly recommend these bags to anyone who has purchased other brands which only led to disappointment. You'll truly be impressed and quite contented that you've shrunk down your clothes or bedding into manageable sizes and neatly organized them in the case that comes with this kit.
