T is for Tame 4-in-1 Baby Hair Gift Set With Brush and Plush Monkey

I love this hair care set! My 16 month old son has fine curly hair and this works wonders on his hair! His hair is longer on the back and when he wakes up it is really frizzy and tangled. I was using a cheap detangling spray and just a regular comb and he hated having me fix his hair in the morning. This kit has changed that! My son loves brushing his hair now and will gladly sit still and let me. The taming mist smells amazing and makes his little curls lay so beautifully. I've only tried it on curly hair but it is so light that I think it would do good on taming the frizz on straighter hair also. When it fully dries I can't tell that he has anything in his hair at all. The brush is probably my favorite thing in the set! I can spray the mist in his hair and it will brush right through every tangle without even catching! He loves the plush monkey too and I thought it was a genius idea to include something to occupy your toddler while your brush their hair. It would make a great baby shower gift! I have a 4 year old daughter who absolutely loathes her curly hair when it comes time to brush it. She cringes when I brush, despite every type of detangler spray I've ever tried to use. When it came time to try out the T is for Tame Taming Kit, I was immediately in love with the scent. The coconut scent is wonderful and not overwhelming! The taming cream is great for bedhead control as the label states, and this definitely rings true on my daughter's hair! She was patient with me while holding the plush monkey that is included in the kit. As a side note, I also have an 18 month old with straight, fine hair and the taming mist worked great on his hair! I wasn't a fan of the mini detangling brush included in the kit because of the amount of hair my daughter has, but it worked well with my son's hair. Perhaps because his hair is thinner than hers. Overall, I found that the taming cream was the most successful product in the kit and it definitely worked to tame my daughter's curly hair! My 1 year old has curls that tend to frizz but with the product his curls stayed tight all day and had no frizz. The brush included makes a great detangling brush as well.

I tested this hair care set out on my three kids. My daughter was less than thrilled when I pulled out a "dog brush" to brush her hair. I talked her into letting me brush it with the brush, and used 4 squirts of taming spray for all of her thick, long, hair. I made it through brushing her hair, but it took much longer than with other hairbrushes, and it seemed to be pretty rough on her hair. One of my sons giggled while I brushed his hair and liked the brush okay, but also thought it was a dog brush. On my youngest son, I used one squirt of taming spray and brushed his hair, and it did the job. The two that I used spray on were left with greasy looking hair, and I was left with an irritated wife because they had just been bathed and now needed to have their hair washed again. The concept of this set was cute (all my kids like the monkey), but the actual hair care products were disappointing. We wouldn't recommend it and will stick with the super soft natural bristle hairbrushes for our little ones and standard hair brushes for our older kids. This kit is adorable, and the mist and cream both smell so good! I've noticed that I tend to use the mist more than the cream. The cream is thick and my 4 year old's hair is so thin that it just weighs it down a lot. I've found that it's better to put the cream in her hair while it's wet, but I use the mist to tame any flyaways while I'm putting her hair up in the morning. I don't mind that the cream and mist are thicker since they lack the alcohol thinners that most other products have, and I love the natural ingredients. The monkey stuffie is cute, and both of my girls love playing with it, but they don't use it like a lovey while I'm doing their hair, which I think was the purpose of it lol. My daughter also loves the brush, and she feels like it's easier for her to use that to brush her own hair than a brush with a handle. I think the brush feels too shallow, like I'm not always brushing all the way through her hair, so I use our regular brush. But I love the sense of independence that the kit's brush is giving her! I don't think it would necessarily be a good baby shower gift, but it would make a good birthday or small Christmas gift to a toddler or preschooler who wants to start being more independent and doing their own hair (with help, of course lol).
