I will start out by saying that I love the glow-in-the-dark handle! The directions say to expose it to light for two minutes before bedtime, so the fast “charge” is a selling point for me. The glow easily lasted all night, and there were some nights I didn't purposefully “charge” it, and the light it was exposed to during the day in the nursery was sufficient. I love that I could locate it in the crib easily. As my 5 month old gets older, he would be able to find it as well. No more searching for pacifiers in the dark! I do wish that both pacis in the package had the glow-in-the-dark handle. Unfortunately, my baby did not prefer the shape of the nipple. I've given him these pacis every day since I received them as a product to test and review as a part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. He loves chewing on the pacifiers and playing with the handles, but he does not enjoy actually sucking on it. He gags on them and spits them out, but I will continue to try as he gets older, because I like the orthodontic shape of the nipple. I also like the shape of the plastic shield around his mouth. It cuts well under his nose, so there would be no chance of anything pushing up against his nose when he rolls to sleep on his belly. In summary, these pacifiers have some great features, but my baby isn't seeing the appeal yet!
Unfortunately, we did not love this pacifier. My 6 month old spits it out so that's the main reason for my low rating. Also, I am not a fan of the design mainly because when washing, water can (read, always does) get into the nipple and then you are instructed to squeeze or pinch the nipple to get the water out. I don't like the idea of soapy water getting inside and having to get it out and I also don't like pinching the part that goes into the mouth because even though my hands are clean when washing, it feels like the easiest way to spread germs if you have to squeeze it after you finish washing it. It's also just one more step and I find that annoying. Also, the plastic shell part feels too thin and unsubstantial. I don't trust my baby alone with it in case he might put more in his mouth than he should. The glow in the dark part is a cool concept mostly to be able to find it in the dark but also, not something that I feel is needed.
I received this product from the weeSpring Parent Panel in exchange for my honest review. The concept of a glow-in-the-dark pacifier sounded great, especially for my LO at this age (5mo) since he's learning to pick up objects. I figured he might soon learn to pick up his own pacifier and soothe himself back to sleep at 3am. Unfortunately, he hasn't yet. No fault of the product, though. I suspect an older baby could make use of this feature.
I received this pacifier for testing as a part of the weespring parent panel. My twins enjoy using pacifiers to soothe them and help them sleep. The best feature of this pacifier is that it has a glow-in-the-dark handle. My twins were very intrigued in the pacifiers because they can see it better at night. Instead of immediately crying when they wake up during the night, they play with the pacifier quietly. The downside is that they aren't big fans of the nipple design. They spit it out frequently but end up playing with it instead. If your child likes Nuk pacifiers having this one is a no-brainer. I wish they liked it better.
I was excited to try these pacis. My son has only used soothies since he was born, but he knocks them out of his mouth easily, so I hoped these would "stay in better" and sooth him. He likes to suck on something as he falls asleep and in the car. The nipple was too thin for his mouth, and he wasn't a fan of sucking on them. Perhaps because we use Avent Natural nipples when we give him bottles, which are thicker and wider. I liked the handle-design feature and I think the glow-in-the-dark addition is genius, but we wont be purchasing these in the near future, as LO is stuck in his ways.
