I just bought the soap that Gain released. I like the smell of the product. I normally use Dawn liquid in all of the different scents, however this time I chose Gain. In a matter of minutes, it was clear that even though the Gain smelled good, it did not clean the dishes like my old faithful Dawn. Not even close. Please forgive me for going astray. I am back to my old faithful Dawn. Cindy
Hi yes I'm a guy and never thought I'd be writing about dish soap. We have been using Dawn for a long time, My wifes choice. I bought a different brand at a discount store thinking they were all about the same. The Palmolive brand looked like a major brand and was cheap. My wife just looked at me when she unpacked it. "You do the dishes" she told me. OK, I loaded them all up, about the normal amount of dishes, and started washing them. About half way through I saw no suds dishes were not getting clean. I had to scrub harder. So I added more dish soap. OK all is fine again. By the time I got to the Pots and Pans, no suds and the grease dots were floating on the surface of the water. I emptied the water, refilled it and added a third squirt of the dish soap. Finally got done. Everthing looked great. Next day she bought another bottle this time back to Dawn. She told me to do the dished again. Not happy about it but I did. I used the same amount of soap and got throught the whole sink full and the ptos and pans with suds to spare. This one goes to the wife and dawn. I told her I'd leave the dishes to her. She just smiled and said "Right"
My husband accidentally sprayed the front of a brand new shirt with a can of canola oil. I immediately sprayed his stain (most of the front of his shirt) with a laundry stain remover. NONE of the oil came out of the shirt so I put Dawn Dishwashing Liquid on the stain, let it sit overnight, rinsed out the soap and washed the shirt. To my amazement ALL of the oil was removed and his shirt looks brand new. I'm going to try using Dawn on some other laundry stains that were not removed using a laundry stain remover!
As a retired nurse I wash my hands frequently. A good habit but bad for my hands. I bought this product a couple of months ago and decided to use it last week after my hands had gotten very dry and chapped, which unfortunately, happens every winter from washing my hands, even though I use hand lotion after nearly every hand washing. After using it for a couple of days, I noticed my hands were noticeably less dry and looked so much better. I not only use it to wash the dishes but put some into a hand soap dispenser to use to wash my hands! I encouraged a friend who has even worse dry hands than I had to go out and buy this product as soon as possible. Dawn Hand Renewal is a best product find for me.
I see a lot of comments about Dawn Hand Renewal leaving people with dry skin, which I agree with. My main complaint is how it makes my dish sponges stink rather quickly. I buy dish soap about every 8-10 weeks, and I always purchase new sponges, (3 pack), when I buy dish soap, and the sponges usually out last the soap. I bought the Dawn Hand Renewal, (waterfall mist), & new sponges 8 days ago, and I am ready to throw out the 2nd sponge out of the package already because it smells so bad. I have never had this problem with any other brand of dish soap. It's really sad when you have to wash your hands after you wash the dishes!
