I've been using this product for 9 months now and I have to say, I don't love it. I really dislike how gross and gunky it gets around the base of the replacement head if I'm not diligent about removing it and rinsing it well after every brush. Also, at times, it makes a high pitched noise while in use...I'm not sure if mine is defective or what. I previously used a Sonicare and I never had these issues. In terms of effectiveness, I would rate this slightly below my old Sonicare. Still, my dentist did comment about how clean my teeth looked at my last appointment (but that's not unusual ever since I switched to an electric toothbrush years ago). I'm going to continue using this brush through the end of the year, then I'll likely switch to the Ultra version, since the design appears to have fewer moving parts.

I've been using quip toothbrushes for over 7 years. Before then I had a Sonicare for about 5 years. When I saw this brush last year I bought it thinking (and hoping) that it would be more effective than the standard sonic brushes and I was right. I accumulate tartar quickly - despite brushing twice a day - which contributed to my periodontitis, loss of two upper molars, and needing two scaling and root planings. As such I have been on a management plan and meticulous documenting of my root exposure for the past 16 years by having my teeth cleaned 3 times a year. Before switching to the Rev, my hygienist would usually take at least 20 minutes to fully chip and scrape the tartar off my teeth with the cavitron and manual scraping, and any time I went beyond 4 months for a cleaning, it was rough on her (and me). The last trip to the dentist was 6 1/2 months from the previous, but I had been using the Rev the entire time on the medium setting. My hygienist remarked that the tartar buildup was less than a normal 4 month span, and it took her less than 15 minutes to scrape my teeth. Both my hygienist and dentist were astonished by the results and I made sure they knew what I was using. I have another appointment next month and I have a feeling my hygienist will have less work to do this time around as I have been using the most aggressive setting. I have noticed the lack of usual buildup by this time. TL;DR: IMO, the Rev is the best product quip has in its lineup and I would especially recommend it to anyone who has abnormal tartar buildup and/or has borderline gum disease. You can't beat this type of cleaning for the price!

At my dentist's suggestion of a rotating head toothbrush, I purchased the Rev Oscillating model. I previously used the Sonic Toothbrush and loved it. Thinking Quip innovation and quality would be the same, I was very disappointed. Pros: the design is good and comfortable in your hand; it is easy to use, charge, and understand; the price is great! Cons: the motor or the speed the head moves. Virtually any pressure on the handle stalled the head. I had charged overnight before using so it was not a case of low battery. The indicator showed full charge. Not functional for getting clean teeth. There is a reason that your dentist's rubber-tipped rotating brush spins so fast and allows pressure to be applied! I returned to store and purchased an Oral B iO2 toothbrush. Considerably more (you get what you pay for). Features are better; head works flawlessly; lasts a long time on a full charge; even simpler charger base. I wish quip's rotating brush had been better, maybe engineers will fix it over time, but I cannot give this a good review.

I've been using this for a little over 6 months now. The size of the rotating brush head is small enough to reach behind and clean my molars. It cleans well at the gum line as well. The rechargeable battery holds the charge for weeks of use. The brush attaches easily to the charging stand and I usually charge it overnight. The brush head easily snaps off to change and the new one snaps on. The three brushing speed/intensities adapt to what I need at different times. Between brushing with this and flossing I don't fear going to the dentist.
