Contains a precise, unique blend of superb-grade linseed oil for maximum penetration, long-oil alkyds for durability and pure South American tung oil for color depth and water repellency, Australian Timber Oil delivers 3-way oil protection. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have used this product for several years. The stain lasts about 3-4 yrs on our iron wood deck. We are happy with this product.

New deck built, with high quality pine for framing, western redwood posts, cedar for the flooring. I used Australian Timber Oil, and couldn't believe how easily it went on. We all know that no two pieces of lumber are the same. So I expected some deviations on how the wood would take the stain. I am old fashion so I used a good brush, waited two weeks, buffed the treated wood with steel wool, and applied a second coat. It looks like a million bucks. I would highly recommend this product. By the way, I'm near San Antonio with lots of sun and 100 plus degree days.

We loved Cabot timber oil the first time we applied it to our cedar deck, However, when it was time to refresh the application, you could tell the formula had changed. We followed the directions exactly, prepped the surface as directed with the products recommended, even sanded to make sure that all prior product was removed. The new coat didn't make a year before it started looking worn, peeling, etc. Now we are left with a large deck that has to be refinished again. I don't know anyone that has time to refinish their deck from scratch every season -a maintenance coat would be ok, but to have to strip it every year is ridiculous! It seems that according to all the other recent reviews, we aren't the only ones having the same issues!
