I love this product as I needed it for a neck injury. I read other reviews and bot were they spot on!. This unit has more than enough power to relieve my neck pain. I would highly recommend this unit if you need an adjustable unit.
The Beurer TENS device is a life saver, I am dealing with back, hip and leg pain at this time. It reminds me of the device my chiropractor uses, but much smaller. It helps relieve the pain so I can function.
Hubby uses it daily. I realize there are some that are stronger but for under $100 we are happy. It's easy to set up, has 4 pads and it's small enough to fit in pocket. Glad I bought it.
Let me just start by saying, Please read the inclosed literature before using the Digital Tens Device as there is a section in the manual that states when not to use this device ...Also I would suggest that you speak to your physician or physical therapist for advice on using this device before purchasing. When used correctly This device is suppose to interrupt the signals that the brain sends to the area in your body that is hurting and thereby causing the muscle to relax. In order to achieve this goal you first have to set the unit to the desired setting, if your muscles are strongly contracting the device is too high! This unit comes with 4 pre glued reusable electrode patches ... you can use 2 for a small area or all 4 for a larger area. The unit works well on the lower back, thighs, shoulders, ankles and calves. Apply the patches to the area that hurts...select one of the programmed options 1-15 or use one of the 3 customizable programs. The digital Display Panel Will show electrode pad Placement Options, remaining time and auto shut-off... once the program has been selected sit back and relax. By the way this device is just a much smaller version of what they use in the physical therapy after you've completed your workout session. I'm on the fence about the product as I was still had some discomfort after several sessions, I felt as though the batteries may have played a part in it as well. In my opinion it seemed as though the power weakened after each use ...as the device does require the use of 3 AAA batteries which were included.
I was very excited to get this new TENS device, as I heard so many good comments about the benefits of using one. The acronym TENS is for Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, which is the use of electric current produced by a device to stimulate the nerves for therapeutic purposes. At 63 years old, with a painful shoulder, knee, and lower back issues, this product seemed to be what I needed to gain some additional relief. The product arrived in a well packed box, which protected the various components: the display/control unit, two electrode leads (white and gray), four electrode pads, a belt clip for the control unit, three AAA batteries and an instruction manual. I laid out the components, then read the manual. The components looked quite straight forward, but the manual is very detailed and not as clear as it should be for a novice. There is so much verbiage and tiny pictures, I really had to just dive into it, as it was a bit overwhelming. I initially had several frustrating issues with trying to get it into operation. I could get it to turn on and select a program, but it would not let me go any further. After several minutes of re-reading and trying to get it operational, I decided to change the three batteries (AAA, 1.5 V) from the ones they supplied, to new ones I had at home. The new batteries did the trick and I was able to get on with the programming of the device. Next, I tried to program the device and found that the white cable worked well, but the gray cable did not; through a lot of trial and error – very frustrating. I tried all the combinations and the white cable performed reliably, then I tried the gray cable, which failed in all attempts. So, I just use the white electrode lead. I've now been using the white electrode cable only (2 pads) and have found some improvement in all areas of usage. I really like the results and comfort I have received. The TENS is a helper in reducing my pain levels, much more than I thought was possible, though not a miracle worker. Before use, make sure your skin areas, where you are going to place the pads, are clean and oil free, as this will extend your pads stickiness/usefulness. The pads will last about 20 uses, if you clean your skin well; then you must buy new additional pads. Overall, the TENS system is helping me to reduce some joint and back pain, a good thing. However, the early frustration with their provided weak batteries and the out of the box failure of the gray electrode cable, it does cause me some concern on quality control and length of service I will get out of this product. I'm giving this product a three-star, based on out the box failure issues and the actual relief I get from using this device.
