I recieved this pump as gift and almost took it back because it wasn't the one I was planning on getting in the first place. I ended up running out of time to take it back, and am SO thankful that I did. This pump works just as well as, if not better, the one I used in the hospital. It works fast, so I'm not spending my entire life pumping. My only complaint is that the suction dial is also the power switch. I wish I could just leave the suction dial where it's most comfortable to me, instead of having to find it everytime I have to pump.
I used a Medela at the hospital, and for me, this pump works even better. Less time and better results! It's a little louder than the Medela, but like another reviewer said, it puts my daughter to sleep. I am currently using the pump about 6 times a day, and haven't had any problems.
This pump is ok. One side "sucks" better than the other so I just single pump. and plus i hate having to hold both pumps in my hand. I don't work so I only pump when I am going to go places which is not often, so I don't use the pump daily but I'm sure the suction strength won't last much longer even using it as a single pump and I have only had it for 3 months. If I were a working mom looking for a pump, I would save my money and get a Medela! My cousin loves hers.
With my first child, I bought a cheap $30 single electric pump and was only able to pump a couple of months before my milk production stopped. The second time around I did a LOT of research and decided to purchase the Lansinoh pump. It doesn't have all the frills of the more expensive models but it has everything you need. I use the diaper bag that was given to me at the hospital to carry my pump. It works perfectly! I have been using this pump 3-4 times a day for the past 8 months. I LOVE this pump. I average 5-8 oz. each time I use it. If you can stand it, I recommend turning both dials full blast to speed up the process. It only hurts for a minute. A friend of mine purchased the same pump based on my recommendation. After four months of use her pump "died." She didn't keep the box or any of the paperwork along with it. However, the staff at the 1-800 number had her pack up everything she had and ship to them and they shipped her a brand new complete system. If you are looking for a long-term pump, this is the one!
I am a first time mom, and breastfeeding was very important too me. I read reviews and did a ton of research. I have not tried any other pumps, but this is definitely worth the $$$$$ i don't see any reason to spend more money. This machine works great! I've had no problems with this at all i've been using it for 5 months. Great Pump!!!
