I got this about 8-9 ago and I can tell you it has held up beautifully. I still use it, all my barn friends would try to take it and use it all the time because it is the best. Does not bend, gets everything out (EVEN HARD PACKED DIRT and rocks) easily. I cannot recommend this product enough. I can tell you even if it is more expensive, I used to have to buy new cheaper hoof picks fairly regularly and I have been using this one for such a long time and it still works perfectly.
I have been thinking about purchasing this hoofpick for years. In my mind, my cheap ones did the job just fine and it was silly to "spluge" on a different hoofpick. After the first round of iceballs in the horses' feet this year, I finally caved. Makes nightly hoofpicking for all the boarders much faster with a hoofpick that doesn't easily bend. I prefer the junior size, but either will get the job done!
The Ultimate Hoofpick is GREAT! This hoofpick is a God send if you have small or arthritic hands. It is easy to hold and makes prying mud and stones out a breeze. Yes, it costs more but it is worth every penny.
Okay so this is the first hoofpick I have bought. There are plenty laying around at our barn and free for anyone to use. I bought this product based off reviews and bloggers... Over all I wasn't super impressed. I like the hoofpicks with brushes, its more convenient. This one is very sturdy unlike a cheap counterpart and the jr size fit my small hands very well. However, you can get the job done with a cheaper pick. I do have to say though if you aren't prone to loose it, its not a bad investment as it feels sturdy and like it can stand the test of time. However, time will tell, Ive only had mine a month or so.
I have carpal tunnel and other arm issues and I find this hoofpick is very comfortable to hold and is great picking the hooves without a lot of strength on my part. I have three little barefoot miniature horses and I love this hoofpick.
