We purchased this particular glidder rocker and ottoman for our daughter and upcoming first grandchild. My daughter spent numerous hours researching rockers for their quality and price. This one seems to fit both. I purchased it online using the ship to site feature. I found this to be great and very simple to follow. When the product arrived at my store, I simply took the form with me for easy pickup. We were all very pleased with the rocker and ottoman. It was very easy to put together, my son-in-law said. It really looks nice. The color is perfect, being not too light or not too dark. The material feels good and the cushions have more then enough padding for comfort. In fact I really liked this rocker and ottoman so much that I plan on purchasing another one for my house to rock my new grandbaby when babysitting. Great purchase.
This chair is sturdy and comfortable. However, I also use a pillow for my lower back. I am eight months pregnant, and assembled it all by myself. The ottoman was already put together, and the chair only needed the back and arms attached. Cushions are soft and comfortable, and I like that they detach for easy cleaning. Definatly worth the price.
The chair looks and is made well. The back rest is more up and down than most other gliders, the back cushions are a little on the thin side. I had to put a small pillow in the small of my back for it to be comfortable. If your planning on breast feeding an infant in this chair, don't expect to be comfortable yourself. There is little chance you will fall asleep in it. It's decent for the money, but if you want comfort spend the extra money for a different glider with better quality cushions.
I registered for this glider because it was the cheapest one available, and I knew my family would be sure to buy it for me. I have been using this glider for 4 months now. And after wrestling with it EVERY SINGLE NIGHT, I decided to write this review. I love rocking my baby. But the hinges squeak so loudly that it keeps my baby from falling asleep. I have actually been forced to keep a can of Crisco next to it (to spray the hinges) and now the whole room smells like butter. LOL. I'm serious. There isn't any lower back support, and the fabric seams are so itchy that I keep it covered with a blanket. You wouldn't think that matters, but it is very irritating when the fabric is against your skin. The back beams constantly become loose and they have to be tightened or else they creak loudly too. I have to wrestle with the creaking and squeaking EVERY night. It is NOT a relaxing part of our bedtime routine. It looks good in the room, but it is irritating and uncomfortable to rock in. Here is my advice to others... If I had to do this over again, I would look for a very well-made used glider. You could probably find one for the same price at a consignment sale. This product isn't worth the money that you save on it.
I have been using this glider for over 18 mo. I nursed my son for 1 year and used it several times a day. I still sit in it at least once a day, now my son loves to sit in it and read stories himself. It has held up beautifully and cleans better than I could have expected (marker, pen, choc. milk, etc.) with a damp cloth. The more expensive ones are really not all that much better as the people I nanny for have a Dutailier... the only downfall is that it doesn't recline or lock in place. But you can't have it all at this bargain price.
