Feathers are poking through after wearing the jacket at the most six times. You can push them back in except when they are poking through at the seams, which seems to be the norm rather than the exception. Hopefully this issue will not worsen!
10 stars for promoting an industry standard for Responsibly Sourced Down. To avoid overheating, I bought this lighter down coats vs. a big parka. However, despite a great look, color, and adequate (even roomy) fit, the areas that naturally thin with movement (at stitching between down sections across shoulders and elbows) allowed noticeable cold to leak through--and enough to be uncomfortable. Really sad because I was plenty warm everywhere else. The felt lined, zippered pockets were great, and ordering the Tall gave me a slightly longer coat and sleeves to cover hands. Elasticized sleeve openings easily stayed above wrists when needed. If you have smaller than average shoulders, you might be ok with this light coat. I will be returning mine to exchange for a more substantial Eddie Bauer down coat that keeps me warm everywhere.
I ordered the tall because I need length in the sleeve. Because the jacket is somewhat fitted, the indent for the waist fell below my waist on my hips. I'm 5'9" with long arms but not long body. This would be great for a tall gal who has length in the waist as well as the arms. Otherwise, it was a lovely jacket. I had to return it.
My wife enjoyed her gift and the weather is just right to start wearing the jacket. She loves the light weight and warmth it provides, grabs this jacket whenever we go out casually, and likes the fit all around. Sleeves may have been a tad longish but not a negative. Great jacket.
I can't imagine wearing this jacket at -5* without significant layers above and below. This jacket is very light and has very little fill. Wind goes right through it. In fact, after wearing it for a couple of weeks, there is absolutely no fill on the inside of the arms. I got a small tall, and while the length is great, it is a pretty loose fit. That means, without significant layering below, the gap provides lots of room for cold air to get it. The good news is that it's small enough that I can still fit my bulky winter coat over it (which I was trying to replace in the first place). This is a jacket for 40* weather, and a middle layer for anything colder. To top it off, the elastic that runs the length of the torso (why you would need to make that smaller, I don't know, it would have been more useful to have it go around the hem at the bottom to try to avoid cold air coming in) broke right off after two weeks, and I only pulled on it once to see if it would help. I wore it in a light drizzle, and it repelled water, but wearing it under a raincoat in the heavy rain left the sleeves soaked. I regret taking the tags off to give it a try.
