Eddie Bauer Women's Lukla Pro Mid Hiker

Wore these all around Iceland in the summer, hiked over all sorts of terrain and walking up to 20,000 steps a day. These required no break in period. My feet stayed super happy the entire week. Was by the beach and the tide rose up to my ankles and my feet stayed perfectly dry. The guides had no issues allowing me to wear these on a glacier hike in iceland - worked like a charm with the crampons. Not sure if the soles would count as "hard enough" for more challenging climbs though. Love these shoes! Really glad I got the taller shoes also to prevent sprains since I am clumsy. Worth the money!

The Pro Mid Hikers are very comfortable. I walked/hiked for about 3-4 miles on dirt and pebbly paths and haven't done something like that in quite a while so was worried the new shoes might not be right but they were great. I can turn my ankle easily so I really needed the ankle support and it was just what I needed.

I have bought several pairs of these hikers and they literally saved my feet. I have arthritis in my right foot and work as a pharmacist so on my feet all day long. I know they are hikers, but they have become my work shoes, walk the dog shoes, everything shoes.

I have several types and pairs of hiking shoes/boots dependent upon the type of hiking/walking I have planned. Living in Montana the terrain is varied and when I am out in the truck taking day trips, I generally have a couple of shoe types with me-never know where I will decide to get out and hike around. These mid hikers are good all around boots-to date, durable and well balanced. I have a foot that runs on the narrow side of medium but as I always have good socks with me these boots work beautifully.

I am so pleased with this purchase. These shoes are one of the most comfortable pair of athletic-type shoes that I have ever bought. The higher top is perfect for stabilizing ankles. There was no break in period. I haven't worn them hiking yet but I have been wearing them in the snow and ice and they give excellent traction on both. I hope I don't wear them out before I can get them on the trails.
