After trying numerous other brands over the years for everything from a Light truck tire to a Corvette & Lexus IS, nothing performs or lasts like a Michelin and is what keeps me coming back when I have the money. Unfortunately, they are not inexpensive tires. :)
I bought my PS/2's for the front of my SLK350 in March '11 and recently replaced them after 63,531 miles! I've been very pleased overall with Michelin's and these were noteworthy because of the longevity. I've replaced them with PS A/S3's. I recommend these tires.
Michelin Tires are the best tires for one of the best sport cars in the world, the BMW 335I. I have tried other brands for my BMW, but nothing compares to the Michelin ZP (zero pressure-run flats) tires. They last twice as long as the other competitors. I have been using the Michelin brand for all of my cars and SUV's for over 25 years. To be truely honorest I tried the other brands on my BMW because ZP tires are so expensive. The Michelins are definitely the most expensive but they are only ones that provides a warranty. For all the ZP tire users, we need Michelin to develop an all-season ZP tire. I will be waiting...................There you have it, you get what you pay for. Sincerely, Michelin Consumer for life
The Michelin PS2 made specifically for Porsche is in my opinion the best tire available. These tires came OEM on my car. When the tires needed replacing I tried to go with a cheaper option.....I quickly reversed course and bought another set of the PS2's because they were by far better on wet surface and handling was more crisp. I have had Michelin Tires on my automobiles for years and continue to believe that they are #1 in all applications.
I replaced the original factory tires, the "run-flats" with about 18,000 miles on them. They were not satisfactory: they were hard, "skittered" sideways when cornering hard, and wore quickly. The MIchelin Pilots lasted twice as long - 38,000 miles before needing replacement. They also had much better handling feel; turn-in was improved and the annoying tendency to hop was replaced by a smooth slide when the limit is reached. I have run the car in the Nevada Silver State road race, at speeds between 130 and 150 for 100 miles, with no tire problems.
