I am sorry but I will not be able to give you guys more than 1 star due to my purchasing experience. For twice I bought this bike, first time after being assembled I learned it was defective. So I returned it, got my refund and bought another one same brand. Then, the second one was delivered to me with a box all ripped off and the bike all scratched. So I gave up, returned it and supposed to have its refund on my CC account which has not happened yet. What happen to my refund?
Can't say that I'm satisfied with this bike. Fenders are cheaply made. They bend easily and rub against the tires, even when centered. Zero stars for the Hand Brakes and chain mechanism. Brake cable ends constantly fall out of the brake handle making the brakes useless. The chain comes off the sprocket even though you give ample time for the chain to realign during gear change.
The bike assembly started off smooth and went downhill afterwards. The front handbrake was received unattached and I used the instructions provided and looked at online tutorials AND still unsuccessful attaching the handbrake. The lower fender braces does not attach as the instructions show. Followed the instructions precisely. It's just too short. Will possibly return. Have it completely assembled so you don't waste time or you will end up frustrated.
When it comes to low-cost bicycles, it is best to remember that a bike is only a frame with a bunch of components added. So long as the frame holds up and replacement or upgrade parts are available, what the price buys is the frame. I shopped around quite a bit looking for a cruiser-class machine with a rear derailleur for under $200, and once I found that everyone else's delivery charges blew them out of the running, I came back to this one. Delivery took nearly two weeks but this was mostly due to Fedex and its kooky routing hundreds of miles past my town, before it could get it to my house in an isolated small town. One fender had a slight dent, but no self-respecting urban cyclist wants fenders anyway and I took them off first thing along with the silly chain guard; the decal saying 'perfect frame' was a little scratched (at the height of irony), but a cheap bike is a cheap bike. I was after this reinforced frame, the comfortable seat, the upright handlebars and the seven-gear rear cassette to help with pulling the occasional heavy shopping load on my trailer. I still need to play around with fine-tuning the shifting action and equip both tires with heavy-duty slime tubes for goathead mitigation, but so far I am satisfied I got what I paid for. The wide tires make for a stable smooth ride with surprising maneuverability (I slalomed under power in low gear through a long line of poles at the local school spaced fairly close together on the first ride, and was amazed at how easily I could run that course on a big clunky beach cruiser.) From here on it's about servicing the components and maybe upgrading the derailleur and brakes at some point, but I have no doubt this was the right pick in its class.
I loved the bike, but it came scratched and dented. I want this bike, but I want it to be "assembled" when I get it. I am to old to try to assemble it. Can it be sent to my local Walmart in Santee, Ca. and assembled completely when I get it ? Thank you
