KidCo Angle Mount Safeway Stair Top Baby Gate for Child Safety, 42.5 x 30.5 inch, White

This gate is perfect for angled spaces. We had a hallway where the opposite walls didn't line up so this was the only gate I could find that would fit on an angle. Easy to install though kind of finicky. It was able to handle the wall difference between baseboard and wall with no problem. Gate opening mechanism is easy and it seems to close easily.

This gate is economical, easy to install, and serves its purpose. However, it's not the smoothest to open and close. We use it for the top of the stairs and I wish now I had splurged for a self-closing gate so the gate didn't get in the way so often. The gate's hinge has also popped off a few times (it's supposed to come off, but not by accident) from being a bit too forceful in opening the gate.

Overall I like the gate, it was an angle mount which was essential because I don't have 2 studs directly across from each other to mount any other kind of gate and I like that there's no threshold. We used this for a hallway not stairs. What I disklike is the install process, it was way more challenging than it needed to be, directions are unclear in some parts, it lists the items included but not how many of each you should have so no way of knowing you're missing something until you need it. Installing was such a pain, that's why it lost 2 stars, basically throw out the template, install the hinge side then line up the other side while you fiddle with how wide the gate should be. The latch parts are plastic so time will tell if it holds up!

I installed this at the top of the stairs and it is well designed (I had a piece of trim sticking out and it sits out from the wall so I could accommodate that) sturdy and soooo easy to open and close. Love it. No babies here - just trying to keep customers in my shop from falling down the stairs - working great.

I received the Kidco Safeway Hardware Mount Gate from the Spark Reviewer program. I received the white gate. It also comes in black. I do not have any little ones; however, I do have a furchild that I have to keep from escaping from time to time. The gate was very easy to install. There were two metal pieces and there was a box that included all of the necessary screws that were needed to mount the gate. The gate is very light weight approximately 9 lbs. The installation took less than an hour. The instructions were easy to follow. The gate is very sturdy. It wasn’t too heavy. Once the gate was installed, the gate was very easy to use. It is designed for easy removal as well. The gate has a directional feature that if installed over stairs will prevent the gate from swinging over stairs. It is tall enough to keep your little one from climbing over it unless you have a really active one. There were no issues with the gate. My furchild didn’t too much care for it, but this will be used to prevent him escaping. He likes to periodically run out of the house when no one is looking.
