Google Nest Mini + Smart Plug 2nd Generation Smart Speaker - Snow

I have no major complaints regarding the Mini. It is an excellent device, I do wish that the wake word could be changed. I have an android phone as well and anytime I say "Hey Google" all my devices light up. It would be much more useful to have a different wake word for the Mini.

This has been the worst device I have ever owned. There is a known, but ignored issue going back several years that affects a large number of these devices. The issue is that every single day, sometimes multiple times per day, the device resets itself to factory settings. This requires you to go through the entire setup process all over again every single time. It is unusable because every day, it asks you to open the Home app to setup your new device. This is closer to a torture device than a useful gadget. For the brief moments that it is working as intended, I can't figure out why you wouldn't just talk directly to the assistant on your phone. I certainly have better speakers for listening to music if that's the perceived benefit of a Nest mini. Anyway, this is going in the trash because after years of complaints, nothing has been or will be done to address the widespread problems with this piece of junk.

I moved apartments and of course changed WiFi as well. Had to do the factory reset the first time since I moved, with not very clear instructions and much help from third party blogs. 2 weeks after it working well, I'm left with 2 solid dots on the Nest. This seems to be a known issue again and might require a factory reset. Sigh, can't think that it is 2021 and the setup is so difficult.

Literally put so much time into programing this little thing for years and it never can really do what you want it to. It is annoying announces itself when it shouldn't. I read forums on it and Google essentially says its still working bugs out on it...its been 3 years since I bought it. Cmon

It's sleek design easily slips away into the background or can become part of the landscape and complement a room. I knew I was in love the first time I jokingly thanked google for the answer and not expecting a reply, it happened. The baby spoke its first words back to me. I knew this was the beginning of a great relationship ahead. So all you folks at Google, keep it coming and keep on surprising us.
