Carr 120552 Super Hoop Truck Step Fits 97-06 Wrangler (TJ)

These hoop steps are described as being 5" wide. While it is true they are 5" wide (un-installed), once they were installed according to the instruction manual for my truck, I actually had only 2-1/4 inches of available space that extended past the door frame to put my foot on. That may be enough for your toe, but once you turn your foot sideways to get in your truck, the inside of your ankle and leg rub so hard against the door frame, you feel as though your entire foot is being pushed off the step, which it actually is! Most of the step was under and to the inside of the door frame. I'm a woman with a small foot, so a man with a larger foot would hardy have anything to safely place a turned foot while entering the vehicle. These are very nice looking steps, but they have a very poor design that does not extend out far enough past the door frame of my Ford F-150 truck. If it's this uncomfortable and unsafe now, I can only imagine what it will be like during slippery winter conditions. I would not recommend these steps for my type of truck.

Looks nice but when mounted they were not very sturdy. Need better directions on line before purchasing so you can see how they mount. Had to drill hole in body to mount then customer did not like them so I had to remove them. Would not recommend these.

Purchased these so my wife could get into the truck. She's short & has a bad hip. Works great for my dog also. Instructions are easy to follow & installation was very easy.

The frame is too far away for attachment. I was surprised how well these steps work attached to the floor / rocker panels. There is some flex, but that is in the step. Easy installation and can be moved if you some new holes. Looks like Carr really did design for the truck (19955 F-250) They look great. I'm pleased with my purchase.

On my 2011 Ford F250 the front step mount is too far forward to where you would normally step into the truck. The back one is great and they look really good as I think there just needs to be some adjustment done on front steps for my year of truck.
