Remington Fabric Fuzz-Away Fabric Shaver and De-Piller

I don't know if this is the same Fabric Shaver I inherited from my spouse's late wife, but that was in 1991, and it was used at that point. I used with with pleasure. It really put my sweaters and jackets, dresses, etc, back into like-new condition. It lasted more than 20 years. That's when I finally had to replace the batteries! So, I decided to get another as a gift for a friend a few years later and found that Remington had discontinued it. I was crushed. I finally found another brand, but it didn't come close in the quality of the jobs, and the other brand's batteries went after a couple of years. Dreadful. I am so happy to see it back on the market again.

I had another product made by remington that worked the same, but the silver blade broke when i dropped it, and I did not find a replacement part, so I purchased this new one, but it is not anywhere near as good as my original one, much smaller, and does a poor job of removing the fuzz. I have to press harder and go over the area quite a few times. I really wish you would have either had the replacement part or not changed the way the device was originally made

My mother gave me a Remington fabric shaver 20- 25 years ago! It held up beautifully all those years. When it finally stopped working, I went to a local establishment and purchased a different brand of shaver. It ceertainly had a sharp shaver but didn't collect the lint very well. The day it nicked the fabric on one of my knit shirts I returned it! I went online and found this Remington model...very similar to the one My mom had given me. I was thrilled! The cost after shipping and handling was the same as the one I returned. Couldn't be happier.

The Remington Fuzz Away Fabric Shaver Model RTFS2ACDN does a pretty good job of removing the unwanted from your clothing. However, the storage compartment seems to be constantly coming off while in use. Also the on/off switch is not easily operated. All in all, not a bad value.

I rcommend this product because I do not know of any better at this time. We have a Remington Fuzz Away which we bought in the 1980's. It takes two C size batteries. It defuzzes a sweather in much less time than the new one. The orignal one has slowed down. I can find similar motors, but I can't find the correct motor for it. Not only does the new Fuzz Away run slower, it gets threads wound around the motor shaft. The older unit has never done this. I have to say it defuzzes, but not as well made as the original. The original is also easier to hold by hand.
